Life is "mind over matter". If I d
Sally--

much of the "mass" dribbled down all over my driveway as we finally decided to
just roll it down to the street level and then roll/pull it into the van.
Paul got in the van and pulled as hard as he could to get it into the Van.

About 3'-4' of the tops were still left sticking out and he cut them all off!!!
I was SO upset that he would do this--but he said that it was his Mom's van
and the registration had expired and he did not want to attract any attention driving home. Whistling

Before that--his battery died in my driveway--and I had to give him a Hot Shot.
YES! That whole procedure made for an interesting day... Rolling my eyes.

Ahhh...memories....Mission accomplisshed!

Some of the heirloom iris that John and Ruby passed on to me are blooming this year. There are 3 more that I need to get photos of when more blooms open. Missed opportunity on blooms that have already been done in by the weekend rain. All of these heirloom iris that they gave me have such an old fashioned look to them.

There's an Indian Chief, maybe an Indian series, with some color like the first one. Mom had that and when I was little I thought that was the only color of Iris.
the heirlooms might not have as big flowers, but they don't fall down as much either, in my limited experience.
Plant it and they will come.

Very beautiful, Gita... love the dianthus too, and look at all the buds on it that haven't even opened yet !

Here's a couple more pics of my irises and my Zephirine Drouhin climbing roses are beginning to bloom. Lot more buds popping out on them too. It's a semi-constant battle keeping the aphids from sucking the nutrients out of the tips of the new growth... Grumbling

Since you all were so thrilled with my Dianthus--here are two of the other colors I have.
They are easy to find--and grow like weeds....

Need an ID on this plant growing in my AC bed. It is now quite large...
This is the bed where i am trying to keep track of cardinal flower sprouting

As much as I have had this--I am not sure what it looks like growing gung-ho.
I am starting to think this is a weed...The leaves just look like it is.
IF it is--I am going to yank it.

Here is the foliage of it....What do you think???? Is it a weed?

Might be a weed called horseweed. But let's see what others think.

I have my own mystery- I dug up and moved plants before the garage job, and was SURE I would remember them, or recognize them... a nondescript not yet blooming bunch of stems. Driving me nuts.
Oh that ONE mystery- there's another. I think it's agasache. Would an agastache plant make a big bunch of thin rooted new shoots, like a perennial? A really thick bunch of roots that I could barely tear apart, not a bunch of new seedlings. I pulled into chunks and replanted them. I'll have to get pics.
Plant it and they will come.

sally--
I Googled "Horseweed"---don't think it matches.... Whistling

I just seem to recognize this as a weed--and now it is2' tall.
Nothing on it but the pointed leaves. No tiny flowers.

It, sort of, came up in between the bunch of Va clustered Bluebells.

I will try the "plant iD Forum--but I really just want to yank it so i can plant
my designated plants in that spot. G.
