This is "Red Champion." She is on a grafted tree from Taiwan. Her beauty is so ethereal that try as I might I cannot seem to capture it in photo's. Here are photo's taken a week ago of first two blooms.
Beautiful bloom, Hetty. I love the darker yellow fading to a chiffon yellow towards the outer most part of each petal.
Makes me hungry, not to eat the flowers, but reminds me of Lemon Chiffon Pie. Think I need breakfast.

I have a beautiful red but it is hard to capture the photos and it is stingy bloomer. It has buds right now and here are the previous blooms.
I can understand what you mean about capturing the red color in photographs. I have noticed that of the reds I have. The red hues seem to change for the camera.
Here is my first bloom of the year. I have 18 plants, most are from big box stores, a few grown from seed. I can see lots of blooms coming in the future.
Name: Marica Northern Ca mountains 4000' (Zone 7b)
I see a lot of the red blooms pics on here but they seem to be different at the sellers. I am terrible at seed propagation. But would love a red flowered one.
