I agree This one is gorgeous! It is one I seriously considered when I saw it and read about it on Flowers by the Sea's website. I love the "Wish List" feature that their site has. The ones I was very interested in but couldn't include in my order due to budget constraints are in my wish list.

It's tender and doesn't bloom until late autumn and winter so it isn't a good choice for most people. I've never grown it but the photos I've seen are very pretty! Lovey dubby

I like to get salvias (and other plants) that bloom mostly during my growing season and not ones that don't bloom until late fall or during winter, so it eliminates some salvias I won't be able to grow and enjoy in my zone 6a garden.

The Pineapple (elegans) salvias I like to grow every year, but even though they start blooming late, those flowers are so beautiful and memorable along with their fragrant leaves, that I can't resist, even if I only get a few weeks of the flowers, I'm happy. Lovey dubby

That would eliminate it for me too as I am in the same zone as Marilyn. If it bloomed earlier in my zone it would be worth propagating by cuttings but blooming that late it wouldn't be worth it. Thanks for the info. Guess I didn't read the info closely enough on the Flowers by the Sea website.
