Looks good Anna. Ah, I love old buildings, even the rather ragged ones. Make sure you get some pictures before they go down.
Porkpal, we had the wettest coolest spring on record, 1/2 a day of rain in July, some nice rainy nights in August and so far a rainy September. it just doesn't seem fair.

Kathleen, that IS the picture before they go down. LOL

Here are a couple more I took.

Doesn't look like that now, today I must make it that way again. Big Grin

I think it is sad to see old buildings go; they have stories of their own to tell.

I love that little old barn. It looks like quite a garden behind it.

It is the old corncrib that has not been used in a gazillion years. Well, maybe not QUITE that many............LOL Realistically, it should come down, tho, as it is getting to be in cruddy shape and of no use for anything except a rathole..........or coon condo............

Yes, that is my "garden" behind.............and I am happy to report that SU has been able to trap and dispatch the 2 wretched groundswine that were chewing up stuff. No tomato chomps since they've "left the room". Cursed creatures..........

Just got done making the estate look like one again. Have tomato sauce cooking up in the Nesco...........put some green pepper, celery (complete with leaves) onion, and garlic. Some of my basil leaves, and some dried oregano. I suppose I should have a scratch 'n sniff here, eh???

I'm back upstairs! This means I won't be checking in every 20 minutes, not that I actually did check in every 20 minutes when it was downstairs, but I am connected to my printers and my scanner and I can get some stuff done that has gone undone for a few weeks.

I will start physical therapy next week and I will be more careful about the things I try to lift/dig out/move in the future.

I posted some pictures on fb, mostly fairly early spring, but here's the summer one with daylilies, Japanese iris and roses, along with some flowering and non flowering weeds.

That is Excelsa, or the Red Dorothy Perkins, aka as Oh, that old red rambler. It is a good one for taking over any and all space within it's reach, which it turns out is quite wide.

Stan's out trying to cram as much haylage as he can into the silo. I suspect he's at the top directing the spout while Kelly runs the tractor on the wagon. I went up in the field up the hill to pick up some beer cans that the lovely young people threw in the field and when I got back he asked me if it was tall enough to mow. I said,"What would you say to someone who kept hitting himself in the head with a hammer?" He didn't really respond...

The walk up the hill was harder than it should have been, but I am getting better.

It would be heaven to have too much hay! Our pastures are bare and brown. There is a half-a-shed's worth of hay, but I don't know where we will find more for the winter. Normally we have grass all year round, but normally we also have rain...

I am glad that you can again negotiate a hill! Don't overdo and ruin it.

I have said that the ONLY redeeming part about hideously cold weather is that it kills the bugs and flies. Other than those that decide to vacation in my house. LOL Big Grin

Yes, I had a whole colony (?) of stink bugs in the house one year when I hurriedly brought in a bunch of potted plants before a threatened frost. The indoor warmth pepped them right up! Gross!

The greenhouse is all ready for the fall inhabitants................finished sweeping it up over the weekend, then filled my water tank and hosed down the floor. Looks so nice..........almost new. Big Grin Par for the course was usually the day before we had to go pick stuff up I was sweeping away up there.............blech! So, now I am all done and ready and who knows when there will be a killing frost. Not this week or next, as far as I've seen the extended forecast. It will be almost like a vacation when I can take in plants and not have to arrange it around milking and chores. Ah, I LOVE this life after cows. Last Sat. I took my grands with me in the Mini to the drag strip to see their Uncle Jason run his bike. Grampa rode his bike down...........DS#2, the grands' dad, had to work, so I just packed them up and away we went. We also went to the grocery store and bought goodies for a picnic lunch. they love to help Gramma shop. Hilarious!

You need to coin a new term "LAC" : life after cows.
