Team Online Nursery or Team Local?

Gardeners have to have plants. It might even seem like the more we have, the more we want to have! The only question is: where do we primarily shop: online or locally?

I'm team mixed. I have good nurseries, but to me, they're overpriced for what you get. Sometimes you get lucky with the Big Boxes (not this year though). I just hate paying for shipping and I have to make sure that I'm getting is actually going to survive in my area, plus having the plants actually survive the transit! I've lost more plants due to shipping than due to weather!

I buy almost all of my seeds online but very rarely plants.

We do have very nice local nurseries and one in particular that is super nice.

Seeds: trades, friends, online, catalog or collect them myself.
Plants: organized swaps, friends, native plant society meetings, rescues or nurseries.
That said, I'm cutting down a LOT on acquiring any seeds and plants! Droughts and getting older means I increasingly just have to say "no"...to myself and others. Time to go low-maintenance and drought-tolerant only.

Even though Trish said not to vote for BOTH teams this week...guess I'm mixed. I rarely buy anything on line...yeah,yeah need to join the 21st century Hilarious! I've never bought plants or seeds online and likely never will. Most of my stuff has been acquired at swaps and from friends. Now when Seed Sprout Nursery was still in business and I worked there...oh my...not a week went by that something didn't jump into my "rescue jeep" Whistling
