I ended up not coming on ATP until late tonight and what a day to wait... I nearly missed a lot of posts!

It's bedtime here, so I'll have to be brief, but I just wanted to say @KarenHolt - I'm so glad your garden is working out for you!!! I'm losing track (a bit) of who I got what seeds from, but I will likely pull out my notes soon after it comes time for transplanting and direct sowing.

I agree, Jim, they do look like BIG baby beet leaves.

Funny: your BEET leaves do look like some lettuce seedlings to me, but I guess I never noticed what young ROMAINE looks like.

I was weeding recently and found a bunch of leaves that MIGHT have been some kind of lettuce volunteering ... but didn't want to chew on who-knows-what.

Rick Flowers are smaller here , I have seen much larger survivors (perennial ) other more southern locals , The blooms are about three times the size down south than here .
There are two much smaller might be's in the jug . But as it is .. I am glad I got one to grow ,

This unusal color for a viola here .. I am hoping to grow more of these

This is for whoever got my Viola, Blue Perfection. One of mine bloomed and it wasn't exactly what I expected. Oh well, at least it is blue.

Elena, It's so unusual....is it a double? I think it's pretty, but I'm sorry it wasn't what you were hoping for. Maybe it's just a weird first bloom?

DnD I think it is a single. I was a worried because when it first opened the bottom of the flower was white! I was expecting a deep dark blue. I have another plant that hasn't bloomed yet so I'm hoping this plant/bloom is just odd. I've gotten other pansy/violet seeds where the colors are completely different from what was advertised! Angry

Are those ones commercial seeds or from the seed swap?

They are commercial seed that I opened for the swap. I ended up planting some too for my blue & yellow themed front yard. I think the other plant has the correct color. It hasn't bloomed yet because skunks keep digging up my front beds & knocking buds off! Angry

Here's a pic of a sweet pea I got from the swap. Every year I grow them and these are by far the best I've ever grown! They have the most scent and nice long stems for cutting. Thanks @Littlecheryl!

I'm so happy your sweet peas are doing so well!

Many of my seeds were growing great, but over two days (about a week ago) they baked to a crisp in the sun. Sad I lost a lot, but some of my tomato seedlings are hanging on and some of my pepper seedlings are doing well.

Sorry DND about your seeds! I'm having the opposite problem. Too much rain (although I have lost some by forgetting to water them). I need to plant flower seedlings before they all rot.

The tomatoes & peppers should make it if they are big enough. And keep watering the other pots. The roots may not have died or a new seed may sprout (that happened to me a couple of times this year)! Good luck! Crossing Fingers!

I will start on a few perennials shortly
Most won't bloom this year , the lupine and so forth , but I do have a couple 3 1/2 foot poppies getting ready , I am delighted with anticipation , I do not know if they are the Drama Queen or another ,

Jim, did you get that borage from me? Either way, I'm glad to see it doing well for you, I love the little blue star-like blooms on borage. I haven't planted any this year because I was waiting to see if it would self-sow from last year like a lot of websites were telling me that borage can do.

I had it self sow one year , it may be from you , unless seeds are from an individual trade I do not usually note tag them , I get a little spacey with my notes sometimes also ,
I know it did come from DnD's all Seed Swap !!! and that it grew fairly well
Takes just right conditions and a great earth for them to self sow ,, Hard to get that forest field open earth
There is another besides the Photo to see if I can find conditions where they will self sow ,, this one is very small compared to few I have had , couple years ago one got about half the size of a very large Burdock , !
