Only took Lily dog for a one mile walk today and then promptly went to work out in the garden again. I have been at it since the weekend on the gardening. It has been stunning weather and just feels like spring.

I hear you, Margaret. I had another leg spasm yesterday morning so I took it pretty easy at the gym today.

Well, I just finished Day 6 of 130 cows and 27 calves. 3 more days to go. No, I don't have to milk all the cows myself. It takes 3 of us 2 hours. I just have to give the calves their bottles, one of the guys gives them bedding and their calf starter. Still takes time, tho.

Just back from the morning walk. There were six of us today for a 5.1 km route. Only small hills today - a rise of about 18 metres during the route.

You must be in fabulous shape by now. Your walks are very impressive.

It is spring here, glorious weather so I have been working in the garden every day.

Ann, you really are doing great with the walks. Thumbs up

Rita, I know you are getting lots of gardening exercise with all the planting you have to do.

Yesterday I mostly puttered in the house and then did a little weeding in the afternoon, it was hard work getting up and down with those darn knees. Angry

Really it is a lot because you just constantly keep on getting up and then back down. Using different muscles from when I go on my exercise walks. That first day I did garden cleanup I was so stiff it was pathetic. But it is getting better. Or of it isn't I choose to ignore the soreness and start work each morning.

I mostly ignore the garden stiffness too Rita, if we didn't garden every time we felt a little sore we would never get it done. nodding

At an older age it is no use waiting till all the aches and pains disappear before starting back to work. If something is really bad like a pulled muscle then it needs rest. Or sometimes the knee acts up. I know you know about these things. So if really bad then some rest needed, if the usual aches and pains then just ignore it.

After we got back from the farm this morning we went and tore out a fence. I had to wrap a chain around 25 wooden fence posts and he lifted them out with the end loader. Of course, that involved TONS of walking on my part. Whe we pulled the steel posts, I drove the tractor and ran the bucket up to pull them out and he wrapped the chain. I would imagine there were 150 or so steel posts. Then we had to unload them back here at home.

Now, it's off for the evening milking and calf feeding.

Lots of ups and downs with gardening for sure. I'm working on weed control in the yard, mowed the grass today and will use the clippings to mulch the asparagus. Every evening I plant onions until it is almost dark. Progress, but still lots to go. I hadn't intended to grow so many! I sprinkled seed over 4x4 pots, tucked them in and watered.... and stood back! I didn't expect all of them to grow and I think they might have brought along their aunts, uncles and cousins when I wasn't looking. Seeds for tomatoes, squash and some other vegies have been started in the greenhouse. I find gaps in the flower beds and think I will buy more perennials such as phlox, daisies, gailardia, lilies and ?. Hopefully they will taste bad to the deer. Our weather has been unseasonably warm and that caused the weeds to really take off. I seem to be making progress, now if I had a few less aches and pains and a little more energy..... or if I could clone myself....
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Margaret and others who have commented on the walks, we want to OWN the 5 km walk in the Race Weekend at the end of May and we will. Hurray! Hurray!

But tomorrow it's back to the pool and I need to work out another 5 km route that begins and ends at the pool for Monday.

Mary, I don't know how you can do all that you do, no way I could do it. Hope Rick is feeling better and will soon be back to normal.

Ann, you go girl, you and your team can do it for sure! Thumbs up
