This is Lucy the prize winning Christmas dog here on the island this morning. She has an amazing temperament and just adores dressing up. She lives with friends, Karen and and Joe.

She's adorable!!! I could hold her all day everyday!!

One more vet appointment to go this year, this time for Lula. I noticed that the white of one eye looks inflamed and the local vet thinks she should see the doggie ophthalmologist. But that's just a trip to Spokane. Hope our luck holds!

Lily ran around at the park across the street. And I mean she ran far away and back. Then she would ran way away and then back over to where she could see me but ran around again. I don't like her running that far away so I was displeased with her. I was going to let her run on the beach but I took her home instead.

Sugar is sick. She was spayed a week ago yesterday; hasn't bounced back from the surgery. She saw the vet Wednesday, got IV fluids and today I took her this morning to our American vet at his house, then this afternoon I called him and he opened the clinic to look at her again. More IV fluids and antibiotics. No diagnosis. She is clearly very sick but her gums look good and she's healing form the surgery. I'm making her some liver soup - she's been drinking water and peeing. Fluids are most important so I'll keep her warm and hydrated. The vet said to call him tomorrow if I need to. He's only here in the winter but helps a lot then. Sugar seems to be in some pain. This is hard.

Poor baby. So sorry. I hope she mends quickly.

Katie, I hope Sugar is doing better soon -- very stressful when our pets are sick!

She is usually VERY good about coming. Don't know what got into her today. Will for sure work on some re reinforcement training.

Oh, Katie that is so scary! Hope she bounces back quickly. Can they do blood tests to help with a diagnosis?
