all our outdoor Christmas decorations (and indoor ones too) are in our sheds at our home, where our tenants are renting , so we had to use borrowed, and buy some new this year........

We do have more evidence of their lies though!! I just hope this time the Hearing Officer takes note. She didn't, last time. It was just a case of "you'd have to move into a shelter? Poor tenants - stay where you are. Bad Landlords! How dare you expect to kick them out before Christmas!!" We're not the bad ones here, they are - they've lied to us, about us, and under oath to the Hearing Officer...........

I guess I do not understand your Canadian laws. If they have a lease that is not up, I suppose I can understand the difficulties of terminating it early. But surely at the end of their lease, a landlord can decide not to rent any more. Otherwise, no one could ever get out of the rental business.

This is just beyond belief what you are having to go thru! It is your place, in my opinion they have no rights. Canada needs to protect you the home owner. Values are all upside down in this world.

It's not much different in the US, the burden of proof lies with the landlord and evictions can take months or years. In the meantime the tenants continue to use and damage the property because its not theirs - "the landlord must be rich so it doesn't matter".

Yep, what Terri said! It can be very difficult for a landlord to get a tenant out of their property if they aren't willing to go.... which seems really messed up to me

The latest they HAVE to leave is end of April - we can, as landlords, give them a notice to leave 3 months - stating that we will be taking personal possession, if the hearing officer doesn't tell them to leave earlier. Apparently we have no rights, even to go do things that are Written Into The Lease, such as get our stuff from sheds on the property that it states in the lease remain in our possession.

Just home from the Dr who says I have osteo-arthritis in both knees, torn meniscus in both, fluid on both knees, and a sprain on the inside of my left knee. He's referring me to a specialist, and he hopes that I can get the arthritis "scraped" off the knees and it will make me more comfortable. He's sending the MRI report on to the specialist, hoping that this will speed up my seeing the specialist - yeah, me too.....

I have a friend who had a torn meniscus (in 1 knee) as well as the osteo-arthritis. She had the surgery for the torn meniscus and he scraped the arthritis off while he was in there. She had a little rehab & she is doing great -- much better than before. Of course, hers was only in 1 knee rather than both but I just wanted you to know it can make a huge difference. They probably will do one knee at the time with you -- at least that would seem logical to me. I hope you get in to the specialist very quickly!

It just surprised me about the sprain in the inside of my left knee. My Right Knee is the one that hurts the most, and I suppose the sprain happened Jan 2015, when I fell off the deck onto my left knee?
Whatever, it's now going forward.
At least now my meds are abating the pain - although I'm pretty dozy all the time, and fall asleep at the drop of a hat.....
