I agree, having your sister's daughter step up to the plate will certainly be a help to all involved. Dealing with cancer is hard on the patient, family, and friends. The more help, the more support, and the more encouragement, the better.
Ken ... I think this is a blessing heaped on top of a blessing ...
In the past, if something like this came up, all we would see is the back of Jenn's heels as she ran in the opposite direction. She never wanted to be "trapped" ... her words .. into having to take care of her mother and the house. Yes, there have been other surgeries.
Bev and I think this came about because I made it clear when Bev first got her diagnosis of cancer, that I would drop everything up here and close my house and would come down and care for her and her house until she was through treatment and back on her feet. Jenn didn't have to worry about being trapped.
Bev was careful about how she told Jenn so that Jenn didn't feel insulted, but felt like she no obligation to step up and her Mom had no expectation that she should step up.
Jenn felt free to choose to be the primary caregiver as long as she could call me, if she needed help. I am so proud of Jenn.
This is a life change for Jenn. More prayers being answered.
As for the rain ...
The drought ended in my part of California last year. We got 44" inches of rain
Of course, the water grab took place and our lake is still at it's historically low levels ...
, but the forest is looking a lot better.
