You might still have to sit on that bucket, Etelka. You know, keeping a watch on the progress. nodding

My MSU Dawgs just beat the #4 ranked Texas A & M Aggies and (naturally) I was there. Hurray!

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Congratulations to the Dawgs, Ken!

My MSU Spartans managed to lose (yet again), this time to Illinois... Sighing!

Feel like a stranger. New format is not as warm and cozy as the old one, but then neither am I.
Just wanted to say Hi and tell @DrDawg my orchids have new spikes on them and are doing well. My new love is the Air Plants and I need to find a forum or thread that shares that passion. Any suggestions?

Hi jacquie
I wondered why you were quiet.

Could not remember what you said about Christmas trees -- didn't you say family involved with those? Figured you were busy with the season

Is it snowing at your house ?!?

Jacquie, @JB, I think "Tropicals" is where you'll have to go for that interest in "air-plants". I don't know what other forum would cover them. Keep in mind, though most people think of air-plants as being only tillandsia, actually all of the epiphytic plants are air-plants, and that includes orchids, bromeliads, and staghorn ferns, among other plants.

I am glad you are seeing activity with the orchids.

I would like to try and propagate Tillandsias but that is a dream I am sure. I am too old to have to wait too long for babies. Thumbs down

Just got this order from the AirPlantShop in FL. They have some nice little plants and I am having fun trying to be creative when I find homes for them. Which is what I plan to do this afternoon. They have been soaked and dried now and they look great. Now the fun begins.

Thanks @DrDawg I will check out the tropicals forum if I can find it. I really have not been around much because I am lost on the new format.

I love air plants. In the beginning I got creative putting them all around the house. It makes it really tough to remember to mist and soak them when they're separated. I finally put some all together in my kitchen, and more together in the greenhouse. Now they get better care! They really don't take too long to bloom. Some I got a few months ago have bloomed.

I am happy for the fabulous much more than the usual deli section at a local supermarket. All sorts of already cooked foods. So great for me that is not much of a great cook and really does not like to cook. I can have a nice home made type meal even if I didn't make it.

So last Friday I had gone and gotten staples and all the side dishes needed for thanksgiving. But no turkey as all they had were way too much for me. Plus I just don't feel like fussing so much this year.

So today I saw nice smaller turkey breast only, perfect for me. I already have stove top stuffing and potatoes and milk for mashed potatoes. Gravy mix. Frozen side dishes. I am set!!

And I have an array of already cooked yummies like a slab of meat loaf, a teriyaki chicken breast, slab of cooked beef ribs, a cooked chicken.

Add lots of yummy potato salad and cole slaw and I will not be cooking this week but will be eating good!

Jacquie, go all the way to the top of the page and you'll see "community". Then click on "Forums" and you'll see "Tropicals" listed.

I am happy we went to the Casino for Thanksgiving.
Hit the road at nine A.M. and got there at at ten forty. The thirteen dollar turkey dinner was very good. Probably the best mashed potatoes and gravy I have had in a restaurant.

The other half between the two casinos we went to cleared about five hundred dollars and even though I got greedy after being up by three hundred and fifty with in ten minutes I still cleared a hundred and twenty though I was down to thirty bucks at one point.

We got back home at five fifty.

It was a good thanksgiving, good weather and a nice drive.

I am happy because someone up the road put out two bales of straw for the curbside pickup. I spotted those and loaded them up in the car and took them home. Free straw for the garden is good!!
