There's a thread here updated a couple of days ago that shows an example of prices and shipping; when the euro is down it's not bad. Most of the peony prices were lower than what I've seen in the states but expect to add 50% or so for shipping. Waiting to see how the first order does before committing to a another order.

Shipping and phyto is astronomical. And it says for tree peonies it is even worse. The New Zealand Simmons peonies are very limited when they downsized. The only
Things that appealed To me were tree peonies and they aren't so different from what I can get in the USA for far, far less cost. The tree peonies are nice though.

Nate had a lot of beauty in his fields at convention, didn't he?

Lemon Chiffon creates some gorgeous seedlings, that's one that I don't deadhead! I don't remember seeing Carnation Bouquet seedlings, do you remember how big the flowers were on that one? I was so overloaded with amazing seedlings and flowers in general when we left Solaris that it's even hard for me now to remember the plant when I actually have a picture of it! I took a pic of the tags before I took a pic of the plant/flower, luckily, so I'll be able to tag them in my computer this winter. Also took a photo of EVERY SINGLE ENTRY to the convention competition. That was more painful--it was incredibly cold in that room and there were hundreds of entries...I'll get them labeled in my computer and share here all winter long! Hopefully you'll put more of your photos out there as well, Craig!

Noticed there's also a guy on one of the peony groups I'm in on Facebook that is sharing pics of NZ tps that he's purchased for this year, looks like he lives there, though. He shared some of those that you'd posted pics of here. Love to see his posts because his plants are blooming now, like a year long peony season!

Guess which vendor's website I will be tracking come the beginning of the year. Solaris Farms sells out new offerings very quickly, some like within a few days of the website updated.

He did, Tracey! That was the highlight of all of the tours, professional farm or private garden, for me. It's funny, I'd be incredibly happy to see any one of all of the gardens I saw again, they were all incredible, but Nate's seedlings were AMAZING! He also had sitting areas that were shaded, I appreciated that for my MIL who tired out quickly walking through the fields.

I am sure you said but when time of year did you got to Solaris?? To get plants and get them in the ground you would have had to be there in early spring or late fall, right? I am guessing early spring.

Nate usually opens the site around the first of the year. Peonies are shipped in the fall, the best time for planting

It was during the APS convention this spring, can't remember which day that tour went but was between 1-3 June. Solaris didn't have any potted plants or roots for sale at that time, Nate Brehmer did walk around with groups to talk about propagating and his peonies. Klehm did have potted peonies for sale but I didn't get any there, already had my rental car filled up with plants from Scenic View Landscapes, the other place Tracey told me about! Looked like I was driving home in a jungle....

I was on his site when it opened last year, some of his new introductions sold out in the first hour or so.

Yes they are, Mary. Both have Salmon Dream as a parent. Pastelegence is Salmon Dream X Lemon Chiffon--doesn't that make you excited for those seeds you planted???!!!!

Yup. Except for the several years I will have to wait ,IF I get any germination, to see what they produce. But I do thank you for saving my seeds.
