A new one for me this year.
Do Tell
I tried many years ago to buy Do Tell, but I ended up with a mislabeled plant. When I bought this one, I waited until it was in bloom in the pot.

Love that one but it has performed very poorly for me her in CO. Have had it for 4 years and not a single bloom yet, very envious of you! Maybe it'll be one that I move to a new area this fall.

I love Athena peony bloom! IT is so unique in its color and flares. I wish mine grows faster. I would love to have it quickly formed a clump. Smiling

Beautiful! I planted Pink Hawaiian Coral last summer and this year it produced two buds. One was eaten off at the base by a caterpillar Crying but I did see the other one.

Do Japanese beetles affect peonies? The bees are all gone now. There sure was a lot of buzzing around the peonies this morning!

I'm thankful that I've not have seen any Japanese beetles yet this year. They typically attack my roses and Kwanzan Cherry trees, I've never seen them bother the peonies.

I have a lot of peonies blooming here now. Last night we had a vicious storm blow through and we had high winds, lashing, torrential rain and a tornado warning. Thankfully no tornado for us. My peonies held up pretty well and once they dry out I will get them fluffed up, and propped up, if needed. Both of my older seedlings are blooming, so I will get photos of them, once I get the garden put back together after the storm.

Beautiful blooms Valerie! I've had Sword Dance since 2011, and I had maybe 3-4 blooms this year. I may have to move it. It's in a very dry spot in the garden.

My garden is dry, and the soil sandy, but I do mulch, and that has helped a lot.

Mons. Martin Cahuzac putting up one semi-double bloom. This has been planted for about twenty years, but needs to be moved because of encroaching shade. It hasn't bloomed for several years, and this spring I stood in front of it and told my husband, I was going to dig it up and move it because it isn't blooming. I think it heard me Rolling on the floor laughing

It has such a beautiful dark red color. Does it have thick substance because it looks like its petals are very thick? Does it have a pleasant scent?

Yes, it does have good substance. I will take another photo tomorrow when it is fully opened, and I will smell it. I don't know what the scent is like. When I purchased this plant over twenty years ago, it was considered one of the darkest reds, but I imagine it has been surpassed by now by newer cultivars. It is actually darker than the photo, but the sun was hitting it and made it look redder.
