I bought 2 rhizomes of Silver Streak which flowered for the first time last year. Every flower on one rhizome looked washed out, but just as beautiful.

I had one do that this year, too. I wonder what causes it.

I asked Barry Blyth at Tempo Two whether this washed out flower is Silver Streak and he said the variation may have been caused by Roundup (a weed killer), but he wasn't certain. I am curious to see what happens next time it flowers.

A very strange looking Kimberly My Love (Van Hook) with color distortion and missing parts.

Here is a proper Swept Off My Feet and the paler bloom. I think I like it more. We don't use chemicals so I think it's just a random act of pretty.

This is quite a year for strange. And of course it isn't done yet!

This one appears to be all falls and no standards.

Opened this morning. Not one bloom on this plant was right. I'm going to move it into it's own spot away from the others and see what happens next year.

Celia - it is more stress from the weather and such. If this is it's first year blooming, give it another year before moving.

For once I have a Burseen chimera that is not ugly. It only has two style arms, the falls and standards are sharing each others coloration and it is missing the horns, but I think is one is sort of pretty in it's own way.
