Nikki, that comparison answered perfectly Thumbs up Firmer petal substance is one indication its probably a more modern cultivar.

Possibly 'Ola Kala'?

That's what I thought too, Sherry. Ola Kala has *crinkley* petals -- it's one of the give-aways on this cultivar. Here's a picture of mine:

Here's a NOID that I acquired a couple of years ago. It was sent to me by an internet friend, after I admired it in her garden.

Mary Ann it has a lot of characteristics of a Sutton iris.

That's gorgeous Mary Ann! Looks unique enough to possibly identify. I'd love a rhizome of that sometime if you should have extras! I've become fascinated by red amoenas lately.

Oh Tom -- if you could help me identify it, I would be so happy. It's too beautiful to be a NOID.............

And the pictures don't do it justice, Neal!! If you'll send me a tree-mail with the words *NOID Natalie* in the subject line, I'll be reminded to see if I can spare a rhizome this summer.

Thanks Celia -- I think so too!! Lovey dubby

Mary Ann, I don't have a particular one in mind, only that the colors and shape looks like it could be an older Sutton.
