Plicata is a color pattern, the link below explains it much better than I could and explains other color patterns too. "Peachy" is just my description of the color.

Robert,

I went and did a search for your "Red" self in our database. I choose the following data points.

Classification = TB

Bloom Color Classification = Red

Flower Patterns = Self

Foliage = PBF

I left off the height, bloom season, and beard color. What did I get? I got ONE hit.

Almaden

Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Almaden')

What do you think? The height difference is not an issue as growing conditions are different everywhere and the joke with TBs is that they ALL are registered as 36".

cbunny41 said:@iciris Superstition The white between the veins around the beards was always the way I recognized Superstition. If you are still uncertain, you could always get a plant and grow it next to this one.

Not Capricious I thought maybe Chuckles, but yours has a larger white area in the falls.

Yes, I agree with the above - Carnival Song. That one has flittered through my mind but I forgot to check.

Thank you Charlotte.

@iciris

Another possibility for your first NOID would be Rancho Rose. Looking at the shoulder stripes.

Your Superstition does look very much like mine. The color varies greatly in different light. The shape of the falls also is a close resemblance. I have plenty of this one if you would like a piece to compare.

@gemini_sage Neal, I don't have enough experience to accurately gage the substance of my noID purple IB. It does have a lot better substance than my Eleanor Roosevelt(forum member identified). I can't find one to match it in the database either (I wasn't being to specific.).

Thank you Pam, I'll go check Rancho Rose in the database. If you don't mind I would love a rhizome of Superstition.
Edit to fix spelling.

you need to buy a test plant from a vendor that sells Almaden and place it next or near to your Noid and compare them next year.

I'm not sure if the beards are the same on your Noid.
