I've slowly but surely been making some progress on getting my semps a nice little home. I originally had a spot behind the deck of my home but it didn't work out because of the constant sun with no shade and drainage issues. I think the little fellas were getting cooked. Even though I've bought quite a few different ones and I know some of them may not make it because of the climate here, I'm bound and determined to make all of them live! Big Grin It wouldn't be possible without some of the members in the group for selling me a few of theirs otherwise I would only have one kind, haha! Thanks @valleylynn, @springcolor, and @goldfinch4! I really do appreciate it...

I tried to be resourceful and came up with some different trays that were intended to be used for a worm garden that I never got around to using. There were 8 trays total and it gave me a couple of spare ones to use if I have to move any in the future. In the future, I want to clean up the look around the trays and level them out in the area I have them in but I also want to make sure it's going to work in this area before I start redoing the area to make it look more appealing.

These are a few pics of the trays I'm currently using.

This is one that has a little bit of everything and it sits on my back porch. Thumbs up

I also decided to build a shelf for my front porch so I don't have so many containers just sitting on the ground. I found some old lumber that was basically sitting there doing nothing, so I decided to put it to use and it's currently a work in progress. Once I get it finished, I'll post updated pictures. Crossing Fingers!

Wow Chad! The containers look sweet and very clever re-purposing too! Hurray!
I really like what you've done with the wood for the shelf.
Can't wait to see the completed project!

Chad, hope it's not too late to post... Welcome!

I like how there's one BIG Warden Semp in charge of all the little semps in the Tub. Good luck on your fun project.

I too had all my flats of semps on the floor of the balcony and decided they needed to Come Up! So the concept of "black plastic crates" (no sanding, no staining, no nails) has taken care of the problem but please excuse that it looks awful:

Flats on the balcony floor and now on crates closer to sunshine

Bev,

Yours looks great and I like the use of the crates. The only kind of crates I would be able to find would be red Hiland milk crates and I think I would have to pass, lol. Yours look great and I also think the black works really well because they give off a clean look. I couldn't figure out what to use and wood was the only thing I could really find in excess. Big Grin

Chad you have really been busy. I love what you have done with them, and really like the idea of building a shelf to get them up off the flow. Great idea.
I really look forward to updated photos.

Bev that is really looking good. It also gets them up where they have more uninterrupted sunshine. Love that deck.

I've gotten a few things moved around and a few new things planted recently. I'm hoping for continued success after losing some over the summer. I think I've found a happy medium for my semp family and we'll just have to wait and see how things turn out. Crossing Fingers!

All in 5 pots should be easier to maintain over the winter. I have over a hundred 2 and 4 inch pots outside to look after. Your job looks easier, Chad. Very organized! ENJOY! Smiling
