Today I found what I think is a giant leopard moth sitting on the deck railing. Is that a correct ID? Pretty! Smiling

Had a small moth(?) out during the day. It appears to be sipping nectar from this (Veronica longifolia 'Eveline'). I have no ID.

I'm guessing you are correct with the moth, HamiltonSquare but don't know which...

Here's a duskywing butterfly and although they are difficult to ID, I'm going to guess its' Horace's Duskywing.

Cute Duskywing Christine. So many moth's are really hard to ID. I haven't seen this one before and rarely see any moth out foraging during the day.

I did notice the moth looks like it has white legs which might help with identification... maybe ?

@GrannyMarie, your moth looks like a fashion model; very stylish! And beautiful.

The sun has come out in Texas and I'm starting to see some blooms again. Hurray! The red salvia continues to be a favorite of hummingbirds and butterflies. It survived the deluge, can take the heat, and the deer don't eat it. What a Dream Plant!

*Blush* Thanks to all for your kind words. That first photo made me remember a game called Twister that the kids used to play. I wonder if it's still around....might be hard to manage while holding a cell phone. Hilarious!

It's just hummingbird nectar, Josephine. It's in a butterfly feeder, and I put a few pieces of watermelon on top to get their attention.
