I noticed this striking fellow on a Yucca plant summering outside. I didn't see anywhere where the plant had been chewed, so I wonder if it fell out of a nearby maple or hackberry tree? No idea. Apparently this is a white marked tussock moth caterpillar.

Those guys are so pretty. We used to get a lot of them in CA, but haven't seen one over here yet. I haven't even found many caterpillars here, now that I think about it.

More so spiders…wasps…crawly flying bugs…

Lone raccoon came by last night..it has been a hot day. So it is understandably hungry and thirsty..hmm I think our outdoor stray cats did not finish off the dry food..so there is something for this lone fellow. Dry and drier season has long started, so these wild ones surely are thirsty.

Right now our heat and drouth are causing more than hummers to sip from the feeders, the cardinals and blujays help themselves as well.

Well I learned something new the other night thanks to Bailey. Toads will play dead when threatened...who knew!?

Lizards will do that too. We had blue-bellied ones in CA, and if they were touched at all, they would go completely still. You could pick them up, move them around and everything, and they'd just be stock-still the whole time, eyes closed. It was hilarious.
