Members of Garden.org may be new to the iris forum but not to NGA. It was not a lecture. Just a sweet welcome non the less. 🌺🌺

I must have missed the NGA rules on how to greet others. My mistake.

(Perhaps you could post them for those of us who have made this small error.)

Quite alright, Betsey -- it's a mistake anyone could make! Smiling

But I wasn't referring to your "sweet welcome" to Patrick -- I was referring to your reply to Bonnie. You know -- the one with the CAPITAL LETTERS where you lectured her about how you're a NEW MEMBER, who couldn't possibly KNOW who is new or not, etc. Capital letters are generally considered to be shouting -- did you know that?

For someone who loves to *explain things* to others, you sure aren't open to receiving new information yourself. You might give that some thought.

I guess I've never seen a Silkie dog, I thought she was a Yorkie. Are they bigger then a Yorkie or small like that. I think if I live long enough my next dog will be a small one. I like the Brussels Griffon, but they sure are expensive for a good one. Like $3000.

Omigosh Tom!!! Blinking That's a lotta money!

That's one of the things that I like about Peek-a-Poos -- they're usually priced pretty reasonably. Paid $150.00 for my first one -- $350.00 for Panda. But I have seen them priced around $2,000.00. That's way out of my league for a dog............that's my price range for a horse!!! Rolling on the floor laughing

I can't say exactly. Supposedly a peek-a-poo, but I don't know. I got her from my niece so my grandson could have a puppy although at my house. Her hair gets long and wiry. She is much loved now by 3 grandchildren.

They are (were, I lost one since) huskies, and they have definite ideas and plans about landscaping it seems. If I could get them to excavate on command, instead of when and where they desire --seemingly everywhere --- I could make a nice little income with a doggie backhoe service. Sorry. I was not aware capitalization was yelling. 😊

And I was referring to granny's grouchy reply to the three of us who innocently and sweetly welcomed someone...

As far as not being open to new information I was thinking the same thing about you, Leslie, and Granny and Tyger. Every time I inject an alternate view that your clique does'nt approve of I get hammered.

Perhaps I just need some more experienced veterans here to set a better example.

I admit I have made the mistake of assuming it was ok to speak my opinion as long as others were already speaking theirs.

I do appreciate you letting me know when it's not. Hopefully I'll catch on soon... πŸ˜€

Perhaps you would consider putting a star by any subject that myself or others are not allowed to reply to in order to help me along.

Much appreciated. 🌺

I think its important that we all keep in mind that the written word is easy to infer attitude from that isn't necessarily intended. Rarely does anyone post something with the intent of offending others, it is up to the reader to take the words at face value without applying any assumed or suspected implications to those words.

Hi Mary Ann,

Thanks for the compliment on my 2 doggies. Yours is absolutely adorable! I used to have a Shih-Tzu many years ago when I lived in NYC, and just loved her, but she was the same colors as your 'Peek-a-Poo'. So, thanks for sharing her pic - it made my Day !
Thank You!

Hi LynNY:

Well, to be honest, Clematis are a lot of work. Of the 18 Clematis I have only 4 of them are in the ground - all the others are in pots/containers, and THAT is a lot of work. Some have done great, and others have failed miserably. This heat wave we're having hasn't helped at
all - they have all stopped blooming.

I personally find growing Iris a lot easier, and one is never enough, so I have 60 Smiling Thumbs up

Exactly, Neal. Thanks for saying so. I saw nothing "grouchy" about Bonnie's post. This group of people has gone "off topic" many times -- but always with respect to the people reading and replying.

Quite frankly, Betsy -- you're the one doing the "hammering". If someone disagrees with you -- you climb down their throats with accusations (about not reading your links, for instance) and you come back swinging with more links/articles -- trying to force them to acknowledge that your opinion is the *right* one. I refer to the subject of Pit Bulls as an example.

And for whatever it's worth, just because no one jumps in and applauds your opinion, does not mean that they disagree with it. You'd be surprised to know which topic you addressed that I agreed with completely. I just wasn't willing to beat anybody up over it. I think most of the people here think the same way -- which is why we've never had any open conflict here -- until now.

I think it's interesting that you use the word "clique" to describe the people here -- wonder where that came from...............
