Speaking of "pretty" I can remember people coming up to my mother & asking for her autograph. I'd ask, "Why do you want my mother's signature?" Their answer was , while looking at my mother, "Aren't you Barbara Eden?" ( from "I Dream of Jeannie.")
While, when I asked for an autograph, it was from actually having met real one's including Jack Lord' from Hawaii Five O " & seeing Jim Neighbors at the Hilton, pool side & Glenn Campbell, too, using lounge chair, poolside, while his family was on vacation..
& another time had seen 'the character' "Dan-oh" (James MacArthur, adopted son of actress, Helen Hayes ?) from the series at a new hotel grand opening, with golf tournament, was, in entrance way & staring at my elder sister, to the point where she started to giggle & turned blush. I asked her, why don't you go ask him, for an autograph, right now ! ?" & she got so flustered, she ran off..Davy Jones (The Monkeys' member,) was pool side & Alice Cooper was "trying" to play golf, & tripped, upon exiting the cart- a few to many beers , I suppose.

Paul...... I was hoping you had a photo of a goat.... in the cab of your truck. Rolling on the floor laughing
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?

Bonnie..My mother had a goat & it would follow her to the bus stop, as a child & wait for her, at the "bus stop" for when it was time for her to get off the bus, after school !
Apparently, it caused a problem, eventually ,as it ate the windshield wipers off my grandfather's car. It was during War Ration time, according to my mom.. & not easily replaced, due to being a rubber product.

I will say, the very first (pre-) school, I'd attended, the teacher was "rotten to the core" & that was supposedly a religious school, a that ! "Whole Lotta Love ", huh ? Doubted it , seriously, when my hands were soaking wet & she screamed at me, at the top of her lungs, for me to "Hurry up & get get your galoshes, off ! " as my hands slipped, trying to remove them from both my shoes, just to start the day... Later, at the end of the year was picnic & went up to her & asked her kindly, if she'd "Like to have some ripe cherries ?"
Her response, was "No & get lost!."
I can forgive, but I tend not, to usually ever forget, some things in life..

Hi Lilli. Thank you for the welcome. as was well as to the others, as you're one of the few, among those that actually were so welcoming, on this particular thread...
Though ,these days ( or would that be , years ?) , it seems people just do that, in the forums directly & all the long time members just tend to wave their little "welcome icons" there, out of preference ..
Maybe some just end up staying &/or going, all depending, on one thing or another... I had sort of expected Diana, to join in, with "introduction", also. But maybe it was interpreted somewhat differently, & quite possibly... well, she seemed o.k. about it all, in private tree mails...But then again, maybe she'd already been "welcomed" elsewhere & I missed it, entirely, but then again, this really is a rather old, Thread to be bringing up...

Lucy, that reminds me, of the curly locks, of hair ,my own mother had, so very young...
I may actually have a photo, with her two elder sisters ! I'll go see if I can locate it, to share, but no Iris in it, as I think, it was taken, in front of a pond, about 1935, or so...

Here's one, of my mother Sarah, on the left, about 1935 with her elder ( by a year & half, & a special needs, educator) on the right Marilyn, & the eldest sister,, Ann, & she lived the longest, to about age 95. She even managed to be accepted, into a predominantly male oriented organization ;"Rotary Club'" maybe ? (A Librarian & may have instructed at 'Saddleback College' & held a Ph.D.) I'd have to go online, to figure out the location, according to my grandfather's Service records, but just a guess, California, near San Diego..
I see waterlily, & something similar to Papyrus, but alas, no water Iris...
