I purchased an aloe plant from the super market about 2 years ago. It was obviously small enough to fit in a small plastic planter. Since then I've repotted it but now the leaves are bending and it's starting to look....sad. The leaves are curling and have holes maybe? I can't tell! Help. I love this plant!

Fell the leaves. Are they thin? They look like that in the pix. Means it needs more water. The leaves should be plump and fairly solid. Gene

How often do you water your plant? That is one of the indicators for curling and/or thin leaves.

Is your plant kept inside or outside? A lack of good lighting can cause the leaves to "stretch" toward the sun.

The "holes" may be insect damage, but need to know where the plant lives to be of more help. It does look very dry, though.

I grow lots of aloe, not because I do anything with them, but because they just grow like weeds. If I saw leaves like yours, I would immediately think that I am either badly under watering it or that the root ball is so dried out, that whatever water there is, is simply running straight through the potting media without truly wetting the roots.

Soak the entire pot, just up to the lip, in a basin of water for 20-30 minutes. Then let it drain and keep the plant in a shaded but bright light area. Do not allow it to get any sun until the leaves plump back up, unless it is early morning or very late afternoon sun.

It seems in need of water, looking at the media, I would carefully unpot, check the roots, loosen the soil with some more perlite or pumice. Then repot, water thoroughly, put it is a part shade area outdoors and see see if it improves from there. If it plumps up well, you can then put it in better light and warmth access, it enjoys the warm outdoors.
