Sent an order directly to Peace Seedlings. I ordered Snow peas Green Beauty and Sugar Snap peas Opal Creek and Sugaree. Sugaree only has white blossoms but I decided to try it anyway.

It goes in the mail so it needs time to get there and then they send my order.

So with my Snow Pea Swiss Giant that I already have seeds for that will be enough Snow Peas for now. There are never enough snap peas!! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

All day I have been thinking on where I could possibly plant the three tall climbing peas I ordered from Peace Seedlings. I keep going back to one garden bed that basically only grows daffodils in early spring and tall Lilies in summer. There is room in there for three of the tall tomato cages to be used as pea trellis supports. But the Lilies are thick in there and are in the way for pea growing. So I still have to figure this out.

But meantime late this afternoon I ordered Cascadia peas. I have spots for a small amount of them. They don't grow very tall, maybe 30 inches.

We are paddling our way to our gardens here in central IN. Over the past 3 days, we've gotten over 7 inches of rain, had hail, and 70 MPH winds. This morning at 7am, there was 90% humidity. Yuck. Rolling my eyes. Fortunately, most of my garden looks ok, if not a little? soggy. I just want to dry out. Thankfully we had no new tree damage--we lost 2 25' tall spruce trees about 8 weeks ago due to wind. They were removed last week--I am trying to decide what to do with our huge empty space.

In the meantime, more rain due on Sunday. Sigh......

Oh my!
Why can't it come evenly over the whole continent?
We are extremely dry this year, and need a good solid rain.

I am so disgusted with myself. After filling the orders of my local, repeat customers (and I had to limit the amount that I could supply), I have practically no garlic left to ship. My late planting in combination with not having enough planting-size garlic cloves, really crippled my harvest this year. I won't have nearly enough garlic for my ATP/NGA repeat customers. This is embarrassing. *Blush* Woe is me. Sad Crying

I hope some garlic magically sprouts from thin air for you Ken. Big Grin Sorry you're in a tight spot, but just be sure you keep enough for you!

I brought in a couple plants for my coworker today.

I'm gonna need to figure out a large area for sprout starting next year that I can rig with lights. Hrm....

All that I can keep for our consumption is left-overs, what's left that's less than 1/2 lb. of a variety. I package everything in 1/2 lb. increments.

I think those regular customers are used to the flavorful garlic they get from Ken and will not be so happy to go back to Supermarket variety.

It is very hard for me to buy vegies at the market when I run out of my own home grown items. The store stuff might look perfect but it is perfectly tasteless...ugh Grumbling

I have had so many health issues this winter/spring, I did not plant a single vegetable. Now my raised garden is completely empty, other than for some irises and daylilies in one corner. I have never seen this vacant scene before. I've turned into trash. Now I'll be eating all those tasteless grocery store vegetables from who knows where.:sigh:

Chin up, Ken! Face it head on: the garden will never be this bare again.

Shop locally and find vegetables you can plant. It will lift your spirits. There are always seeds if you can't find plants.

I thought about beans, and then, because I was "hiding out", dismissed that idea. When I can walk again, I can go out to Lowe's and see what they might have left over.

Believe me, Arlene, I have more than enough to keep me busy. 1000 tropical plants is a handful, day-in and day-out. But I do like to grow vegetables too.
