My pea seeds arrived in the mail today. Well, mostly peas as I did get two types of bush beans. I am excited about growing these peas. Of course can't plant yet, have to get my timing right in July.

I got a bunch of seeds yesterday in the mail too! My ramp seeds and a bunch of wild flowers for the bees. It is hard waiting, but most of these I need to put in the ground in the fall so they are out over winter. .. Minnesota seeds for you, heh.

Along my walking route on the way home I see someone had thrown out a perfectly good tomato cage so I took it home. Trash to treasure!!

And the other day when it was trash day here on my block my neighbor had put out a complete tray and 4 inch pots to fit it in her garbage. I took that home as it will be great for when I am seed starting and want larger ones to transplant too.

I had ordered Dill seed on E-bay and it came today. Meantime I had fixed up two big pots on my back stoop to plant it. I had a big planter of dill there but last week it suddenly and very mysteriously all died. All of it. I was really bummed out.

So hope it comes up quickly and does good. I am puzzled about the other as it was doing so well.

That IS strange, Rita; i always have a lot of dill in my garden that has self sown from the previous year, never had anything like that happen, either.

Well, I have two big pots replanted. One is the same that died but I added compost and mixed up the potting mix. Weird because dill should be really easy.

I have been out of the picture for a while. My vegies as doing well but I was disappointed in the kale. I bought a new kind and it has big leathery leaves not the nice purple green curly ones I had last year. Why would anyone want big old leathery leaves. I will harvest and freeze for kale bread but am planting another round of the stuff I grew last year.

Garlic was a total bust. So much for that venture. Lettuce seed planted last fall is going great guns. We harvested the lettuce that I grew in the greenhouse garage and when it peters out we will have the stuff growing from the seeds planted last fall. Great. Also spinach is doing great but bolting so I bought some more seed that is supposed to not bolt so fast. Brocs, beans and peas are okay but no produce yet from them. Squash barely growing vegies yet. Hoping the patti-pans produce. And as per usual hope springs eternal for tomatoes and peppars. Whistling

Wow on the dill. I have a dill patch in my herb garden and some aphids attempted to colonize it but didn't get very far. Now I have dead aphid shells and a bunch of green lacewing eggs hanging like christmas ornaments all over the dill. Also little red ladybugs on it. The whole thing is quite festive. Hilarious!

The late start potato bags have seven out of the twelve seed spuds sprouting! I'm excited because I needed to order the bags and they were on backorder so by the time I got the seed spuds in, some were growing quite a bit of fuzz. I didn't know if they would still grow. My first 2 bags with the 6 plants is going great! I need to add more dirt now and that will bring the dirt to the top of the bags.

My raspberries have ONE red berry! HA! The rest should be catching up soon. One of my gooseberry plants is worrying me with the yellowing leaves.

Dinner last night was a harvest of broccoli raab, arugula, radish greens cooked with steak and potatoes in beef broth. I even got to add some basil as that finally is harvestable!

My tatume is growing really well too! I've been tying it up to the trellis as it grows but today I saw some little spirals growing off the vine so here's hoping it figures out how to hold itself up!

I have not been posting much due to work but I will mention I've been getting a few grape tomatoes every day, had a couple good handsful yesterday, and Big Beef hybrid yielded two ripe tomatoes so far but I'm getting ready to be overwhelmed by the crop. In 10 days we're going on vacation so a lucky friend will get to pick as it peaks. Had a couple Espelette peppers which have a bit of heat. Have to keep the dog from stealing tomatoes, he smells the ripe ones.
