My Improved Meyer Lemons need to ripen FAST!!!
I need your recipe please, @rocklady. My mom had her obsession with lemon meringue pie one summer. My grandma gave her all the lemons from her tree. Mom's meringue kept slipping off the pie filling. Still tasted good. I loved all the flops! But I don't want her recipe! Rolling on the floor laughing

@Rocklady Jean I'd love that Lemon Pie recipe too!

Lovey dubby My dear, sweet mother in law used to make a great lemon meringue pie and I used to have her recipe but it got lost in the shuffle somehow over the years. She lived to be 97 and would have turned 109 years old this year!

This isn't baking, but last October for our church's first Lasagna supper, I made all the lasagna. Just a small country church, so you really don't know how many to plan for. Our Ice cream social usually brings in about 100 or a few more. (that's tomorrow). Anyway, I made lasagna for 90. My one sister-in-law about had a cow..........a week beforehand she was wringing her hands and worrying "how are you going to get that all done??? " Wring, wring, wring............... Sticking tongue out I told her, "that's a week and a half away, I don't need to start getting excited about it yet". Rolling on the floor laughing I spread it out over 3 days and put it all together the day of and we were just peachy-keen. Other than the fact that we had lots more people than we planned for and ran out of lasagna at 6:15..........supper was supposed to go till 7. One of the other gals made a little, "just in case".........she went home and got it and that was gone in 15 minutes. I made sure that I served it, because I knew how much I needed to get out of each big Nesco ...........18 servings.............and did NOT want someone shorting or giving too much. I had 4 Nesco roasters plus my 12x18 half sheet pan (which holds the same amount as the roasters).

I bought smart for the supplies, getting what I could at Aldi's...........the tomato juice and cheese and tomato paste. All they had for the noodles were those wretched no-bake ones, so I had to go to my regular grocery store for those, plus I got my meat at the groc. store too. I think I got by for $100.00 or a tad more for what I needed to buy.

I knew that the church peeps liked my lasagna because they always asked me to bring it for church special occasion suppers and I NEVER brought anything home but an empty pan..........the big pan. LOL That is why I said I would make it all. Some people make kind of crappy lasagna, and you don't want that for a big gathering. I got lots of raves on it. Made me feel good! Green Grin!

Sorry............I guess I am being a braggart.

Do you put tomato juice in the lasagna?

That is a new one.for me.

My sis has used those no bakes .. She says ok

I quit boiling lasagna noodles a few years back..
I just get big pan sit the noodles in ...bring to boil and turn off ....let them soak..they ' cook ' enough and cool enough to handle - no breaking. Then in the oven ..in pan...prepped with the sauce and cheeses and covered with foil until 15 min before it exits...the noodles cook the rest of the way just fine.

For today's Ice Cream social I am doing the pulled pork. Cooked up about 2 whole boneless pork loin roasts. Broke it all into pieces last night, put in fridge. Today I will throw the chunks into the food processor and pulse just enough to break it up. I don't want it "pulverized". LOL But it takes too long to shred it up by hand. We're also having BBQ, applesauce, chips, potato salad, baked beans, ice cream, pie, and lemonade. $8.00. 4-7, if anyone wants to come. Green Grin!

Anna, I would love this recipe! Smiling It would go great on my lemon blueberry pancakes.

I went and bought everything I need for that first carmel pound cake, now I have to convince myself to not bake it until I have lots of people around to help eat it. I don't need to eat it all myself! Sticking tongue out When I do make it, I think I'll use my angel food pan.

Last week I made a rhubarb cake with a recipe someone gave me. Before it was cool I had eaten 3 pieces. I quickly cut up rest of it and ran it over to the neighbors or I would have eaten it all by the end of the day. I'm so bad!

My favorite pound cake it a maple nut, made with pure maple syrup and pecans.

I think I gained 3 lbs just reading this thread! Hilarious!
