G'day Twit,

If you any species I would definitely be interested in getting them so that I can verify the species in my own collection.

Please advise.
Thanks.

twitcher said:Ok, this is an experimental offer and can be withdrawn at any time.

My semps and jovis are eating me out of house and home. I have too many and must thin my collection. I have about 150 named varieties in my collection at this time and there is just no room to allow the populations of these varieties to continue to expand. Therefore I am offering a free box of semps and/or jovis and maybe some sedum according to the following rules.

1) You will be expected to pay postage for shipping. Postage paid must be in the form of Forever Stamps.

2) Linda from Texas gets first shot. I also have a few promised trades which will get priority. All others will be first come, first served.

3) I can refuse anybody with or without reason or withdraw this offer at any time. You agree to go away quietly if you are unhappy for any reason. I will agree to not hold you responsible for postage if you have a complaint that makes good sense to me.

4) You will post your interest here (in this thread) to establish first come/first served. In your post or an accompanying c-mail, you will list the names of the semps, jovis & sedums that you have in your collection or that you do NOT want. When I pack your box, I will make an effort to pack sempervivum, jovibarba and an occasional sedum that is not on your list. All plants will be named and packed individually in bags according to name. I may, if appropriate, pack a single selection of a No-ID variety if I am getting rid of that variety, but the majority of your box will be bagged and tagged named varieties. My choice but I will try to only pack items not on your list.

5) I will ship out plants that I am thinning from my collection because I have too many and no more space to keep them. That means you may get a couple of larger clumps, just some offsets or a mix in between, but I'll fill the box. In your post or c-mail, please indicate if your are looking for a lot of variety or a lot of just a few of the same kind. I'll do my best to accommodate, subject to what I have available.

6) Box will likely be an 8 x 8 x 8 Priority Box which typically ships in the $5.00-$8.00 range, depending on your location.

7) I would ask that you respond with payment for postage promptly after you receive your package, as funds are short for doing this. However, I will not be responsible for anybody sending postage in advance. Please wait until after you receive your package. This is because, due to family responsibilities, I do not know how fast I will be able to do this and I don't want anybody to be unhappy over a slow response. I will do my best to send you a c-mail a couple of days before shipping. You agree to send me a c-mail indicating any period of time when you will be unavailable to receive the package.

8) One final limitation: You must have been a registered, active member of this Cubit as of February 1, 2011 to participate in this offer. This limitation is being put in place to prevent an overwhelming response or people joining just to get free plants. I'll try to repeat the offer next year for new members or members who did not participate this year. You also must be a US resident.

That's all I can think of at the moment. The semps and jovis are really nice this year and I have to place limits on the space occupied by the collection.

My new plants are all in their new homes. About half fit in this chicken feeder the other are in pots.
We are to have a run of 90+ with no rain for 10 days I may have to water, so far they have been just sprayed per your suggestion, and the soil still has some moisture.

Thanks again

My feeder is so old it already had holes, and I had to line it with weed-barrier cloth to hold the dirt.
It was already at my DH farm when he moved there in 1962,almost an antique Smiling

It looks like it will be okay Charleen. I wet the paper towel again to get moisture to it, I will plant it this evening and set it in a shady spot on the deck. : )

Twit, your stamps are on the way. I had to get two sheets, cause they don't tear them over here and I think it a nice way to help pay a little toward your paper bags and supplies Thanks a million.

I went into the post office and asked for 'FREEDOM' stamps. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing The lady said, all we have are Forever Stamps. What a dumbo I am.

Okay, I have been harvesting but it is taking longer than I thought it would. The people that I am sending to will receive about 33 different varieties in their box.
I will let you know what postage is as soon as I get them packaged and know what size Priority box it will be. More than likely the medium one.
You can reimburse me for postage either to my Paypal account or send a check for the postage amount. I will make sure each of you get young offsets that will produce for you for at least 2 or 3 years before blooming. There may be the occasional more mature rosette sent along with the offsets. It is also taking more time to dry them before packaging as it has been raining here since last Friday. I don't want to take any chances with them rotting during shipping. : )

Here is who I am shipping to:

Thread OP

All Commemorative stamps sold in 2011 will be forever stamps. If you are not sure a stamp is Forever, take a close look at it. All of them say Forever someplace on them.

I too am experiencing some delays in shipping my final boxes for the season. Part of the problem is that I received a large shipment in trade from someone weeks earlier than expected, and in clear conscience decided that I needed to get new arrivals situated before shipping out the oldsters. It has also been a very busy time and my time to work on this is limited. I underestimated how much time it takes (and I should know by now Sad ) and how much time I would have available to do this. I will keep at it, but thanks to all for your patience too.
