Good thought on that Malachite Prism scape, Glen. Definitely something to watch out for, but since Larry said it was the last bloom on the scape, I'm guessing the other blooms were normal. One of those oddball things that nature just throws at us to keep us guessing, I think Big Grin

I noticed in the much cooler weather some of my blooms are taking two days to open and two days to be finish blooming, I think the cool weather is just keeping them from showing their true colors.

Must have been some genetic thing going on with that particular bloom. Temps were in the mid- and upper 70s while it was blooming. I've marked the fan, just in case anything weird happens with any of its blossoms next year.

Everything not planted down in the bog beds is so dry I have had to start watering with the hose.
I didn't expect to post in this thread again, but while watering I noticed that I had a couple of new scapes.
'Rose Emily': a new small scape with tiny buds.
Thumb of 2016-10-13/Seedfork/df365c
'Chicago Apache': This scape is a little further advanced but I don't expect it to actually bloom, unless we have a drastic weather change.
Thumb of 2016-10-13/Seedfork/b06770
I thought I might as well throw in a couple of the last 'Super Purple' photos.

Two more you have seen before, but it's October and so neat to have daylilies.

Fire Suite--last bloom and it's a beauty.

Thumb of 2016-10-19/Avedon/7b84e5
Orange Spice--a cool, cloudy day and the color really shows up. There are four more buds on two scapes, but we are supposed to have a cold front come through tonight or early tomorrow morning with a strong north wind, so I don't know how this will affect the plant. I am hoping all four buds will be able to bloom.

Walked down to the garden and found my last three reblooms of the season.
'Chicago Apache': I missed a bloom yesterday, so was watching for the last one today.
Thumb of 2016-10-20/Seedfork/fb337c

'Super Purple': The last two buds finally bloomed today, and they are still beautiful blooms.

So my first bloom of the season was 'Ming Porcelain' on 03/13/2016 and my last bloom is a tie with 'Chicago Apache' and 'Super Purple' on 10-20-16. That is by far my longest blooming season so far.

That is a great bloom season, Larry. Super Purple is gorgeous. I like that shot of the whole plant. It really shows how nice it stands above the foliage!

Prickly Sensation purchased this Fall from Maryotts. Came with a rebloom scape if I remember correctly.

Thumb of 2016-10-21/bxncbx/f37c1c

I also purchased Shiraz and it has a scape now. With the temps dropping I doubt I will see it bloom. But then again, the last 2 years we had fairly warm weather up until at least Thanksgiving so who knows?

Last bloom until next year. I'm not sure why the last bloom faded (photo was taken after 5p.m.), but it did. There was a bloom yesterday and the color held. Here is 'Whip City Dapper Dan' today and ending the season. The first blooms on 'Dan' were at the end of May, so it was a good run. Unbelievable that I've been seeing daylily blooms for so many months!

Seal of Approval has a couple blooms left on it, but it has been such a rust bucket this last month, it really detracts from the beauty of the bloom. Such a shame, because it put up three late scapes.
Thumb of 2016-10-22/blue23rose/af6826

There is even rust on the scape. Silly me, I thought it only affected the leaves. It does have a rust score of 3.0, which means it shows susceptibility. No doubt about it in my garden!
