it's "SSG" who we haven't heard from.

it's cat NIP that I have, ( not catmint) but it will not transplant this time of year. Could probably scrounge seeds if really wanted.
Plant it and they will come.

whups, I hope that the catnip I pulled and potted will do OK... They are down alongside the deck, and i haven't checked on them yet... if not, I'll have more in spring and can get seed too!

Rick, no worries about the mint... leave it alone, and I bet it will come up gangbusters in spring (if not before).

I've got a couple of things to try to dig/pull still, but my legs have been uncooperative this week. Meghan may give me a hand in the morning. I just chatted with her, and I think she'll be coming with me! I think lot of people met her my place the morning of the spring swap, just before she had a hard fall & broke her leg. Her leg is fine, now, and the rest of her is doing great too, although she's had a rough month of symptoms before finally getting her gallbladder out this past Tuesday. I tell you, there's no keeping this girl down. :-)

Did anybody want a red maple "toddler?" I may bring one "in case," but I'm going to leave the rest home.

Robin bunch and EvergreenMike: I don't really have any myosotis sylvania. Of the two I had, other things started growing in their pots and quasi choked them out. So, Mike will get the remaining one since he was first on the list. It's barely a plant but it comes with a bonus columbine. Robin, you get an extra scutellaria Incana and conoclinium coelestinum. Sorry about that.

I have some catnip here that could be dug up!

Rick, I'm okay doing without the chocolate peppermint, too--please no worries!

I found a nice-sized White Pine seedling today--growing close to the base of my shad.
Dug it up and potted it up. It is about 6" tall. It will go on the "FOR GRABS" table.

Otherwise--everything is tagged..boxed, watered and already in the car.
That is how I keep my sanity...things have to be all taken care of b/f the EVENT.

See you all tomorrow,,,Dress light..it is going to be a scorcher...

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

urgent request from my goddaughter... she is doing a science project, and the first pass did not work, so she is in desperate need of more LIMA BEAN SEEDS. Does anybody have some in their "stash" that they'd be willing to give me for her tomorrow?

I know she could try germinating dried packaged-for-eating limas, but that tends to be pretty hit & miss due to processing.

The seed racks in the "big box" stores are long gone, but if anybody knows of a local place (especially if it's near Rockville) that would still have veggie seeds in stock, PLMK. I can try DPF and Southern States.

Thanks!

(I know... all the seeds that I have, and I can't find a lima in the bunch of them!)

whups, lost an earlier post...

Donner, I've got 50 M. 'Dark Eyes' for you $10. Beautiful plump bulbs!

Shy, the last 10 Yellow Cheerfulness daffs are yours, for $3.15. They're at the bottom of the box Lisa is bringing to the swap, so I'll try to get your name on them when we unpack it.

Mariposa, I'm sorry but most of the bulbs were gone by the time I saw your post. The "extra" bulbs are spending the night with Lisa, so I can't check, but I am fairly certain we still have 5 Mary B. I think we have some Smiling Sun, too, but I'm not sure how many. I'll try to get your name on them when we unpack the box. I can also slide you 5 Prom Dance for $1.75. (Let me pack them right now so I don't forget!)

We do still have 40 Iris reticulata 'Harmony' -- a little blue iris. We put them all in 1 paper bag, but they are divided into little pre-packs of 10 bulbs each... 10 for $1.50.

I think we also have 5 N. 'Decoy' remaining -- the brightest red/orange cups I've ever seen on a daff, even more intense than 'Einstein'.

I have limas. From couple years ago, in a very feeble prep for apocalypse moment.. they are 2011 in a Pinetree pack. Will bring them.
Plant it and they will come.

Thanks, Rick, but apparently she started with Limas and that's what her teacher wants her to continue with. Otherwise, I'd have something for her in my stash. They are trying to get her to do "something that hasn't been tried before." Rolling my eyes. Her first proposal was to see if seed density affected germination... problem is, dried lima beans don't significantly differ in density, so that didn't get off the ground. She called tonight to say she was now supposed to look at whether magnetic orientation (magnetic north etc) would have an effect on germination.. I expressed skepticism, and she said her teacher also said it would be OK to look at the effects of gravity (orienting the seed up or down)... yes, let's try that, at least you might find something observable, especially if you sprout them in the dark to negate an otherwise overwhelming influence of light direction.

sigh. I love science projects, but her teacher is just nuts!

Jill, we would like to re-home a couple of bags of Iris 'Harmony'.
