@nativeplantlover I try to go by the rule of thirds and having the main interest of the photo around the intersection of the dividing lines of the thirds matrix. Do I always do this..No..sometimes I capture the image and the thirds rule is barely in play but for the majority if you stay close to the thirds rule it is more pleasing to the human eye.
I'll show the over lay of the rule of thirds on a couple of images below for reference. You can notice how the lines cross the main interest of the photos. I hope this helps, if not...just let me know.

Sometimes we can get away with not applying the rule of thirds in a definite sense and still end up with a pleasing image. The discipline of macro photography sometimes lends itself to this variance from the rule so to speak.

So anybody- How do we just "tag" someone's quote w/o re-posting all of the pics again if we want to do that?

I don't know if there is an easier or different way but if I want to "Quote" someone's post but don't want to use the whole thing, (Like I just did with your post) I just delete the part I don't want to use. Make sure not to disturb the parts where it says quote surrounded by both of these[ ] at the front and end of the post.

Maybe this will help..If not just let me know and I'll try and do better. Thumbs up

When we hit the "quote" link on a users post we get a screen like this first image. See the second image for a simple explanation of what I think you are asking.. Crossing Fingers!

The "golden rectangle" is also called the Golden Mean. Golden Ratio is probably the most accurate. The ratio is 1:1.6. I've applied this in the placement of the large pots in my front yard. 1:1.6 is an architectural measurement. The most known structure is the Parthenon. I don't know how it would work with photography unless you were deliberately setting up a shot. There is a lot of information on the Golden Ratio on the web, including instructions on how to use it. Hopefully someone else knows a lot more than I do.

One of my favorite places to "eat out".....Sometimes I will buy me a fish plate in the town nearby and sit in this swing enjoying the sunset. You can see my plate and plastic bag in the swing when I took this photo. In the summer, the moon rises just to the right of the right hand post of the swing, between that point of land and the post.

And BTW thanks very much for the technical explanations. Once I learn something like this, I realize It's more difficult for me(ADD) trying to decipher the instructions than the actual task. The visuals help a lot too.
"My work is loving the world. Here the sunflowers, there the hummingbird — equal seekers of sweetness. Here the clam deep in the speckled sand. Are my boots old? Is my coat torn? Am I no longer young, and still not half-perfect? Let me keep my mind on what matters, which is my work which is mostly standing still and learning to be astonished." — Mary Oliver, from Messenger
