Miniature daylilies are not coming up on a search in the Plant Database. They should come up when choosing the " 2"-3" bloom size", but I am getting nothing. I know that there are a LOT of miniature daylilies in the database, so something appears to not be working with the specific search option for tiny blooms.

Can you find me an example of one that exists in the database, but is not being returned in a search?

When I search "mini daylily" I get a lot of them, but also get some large ones that just have "mini" in the names. Here is one:

That plant wouldn't come up when choosing the 2"-3" bloom size because it has 1.25 inches set.

There are many minis that have blooms BETWEEN 2" and 3".

@Dave - Here are some that fall into that 2" - 3" range:

A Small Multitude
Artistic Style
Grandma's Little Sweetheart
Mayor of Munchkinland
Cute As Can Be

To just name a few ....

Karen - Where in the Plant Database search option do you put "mini daylily"?

That's because you are using the lower generic size section in your search. The daylilies are imported as registered with the AHS so that Flower Size section is not filled in (and I am not inclined to do over 82,000 entries! Blinking )

Use the upper Bloom Size section, adding the word "inches". I tried 2 inches but it returned everything that had a 2 in it, like 12. I tried 2.5 and that gave me a large list.

Since miniatures are daylilies with flowers less than three inches in diameter, maybe Dave can add a category in the Bloom Form with that designation and then any bloom that is registered less than 3 inches can automatically be checked as a mini.

Yes! I would really like to be able to access any plants that have a 3" bloom or less as a mini. I knew that you could type in 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc. to get miniature daylilies, but that takes a lot more time to do than just getting a listing of ALL that are 3" and under.

I saw the option for 2" - 3" and thought it would work. I did not know those fields were not filled in. Thanks, Suzanne!

It would be great if somehow the size would search with maybe just a half inch increments. To me that would be much more realistic and useful.

I know this is an old thread, but I was just searching some Vendors and tried using 1. for a search and then 2. for the second search, and my using those two numbers I was able to search all the minis pretty fast.
I just tried it here in our database and it also works.
Searched Bloom size: 1.
The results were 105 plants. Miniatures

Searched Bloom size: 2.
The result was 1368 plants Miniatures
