Linda, do you happen to know if San Antonio (Borne - just west of SA) got any?

The weather radar this morning made it look like the whole area from Laredo to Waco was getting rain - including the San Antonio area. That batch stayed north of us. We are now getting a steady rain, I don't know how much yet.

We had rain all night and this morning. The sun was out for about an hour. Gone again and clouds are back. Thankful for the rain. We were at the lake yesterday and the deer were everywhere nibbling on the tiny grass spouts. Passed the llama ranch and they were out near the fence by the highway eating grasses. Now it's finally getting cool. Going to be 38 tonite!

Ann, I know San Antonio got rain also, just don't know how much. Boerne probably had some, but can't say for sure.

Boerne got some. My cousin lives there. It is her birthday today & I had been trying to call her to wish her a Happy B Day but hadn't gotten hold of her. I just now spoke to her briefly (her kids are in from Dallas) & she did say they got a little & have been getting a little for the past 6 weeks or so. I'm glad it rained on her birthday though. Can't think of a better B Day wish for Texans right now than rain. Something one normally would NOT wish for someones birthday! It seems the world has turned upside down. Blinking

Bubbles, do you dislike wind also? It can get on my nerves for sure.

Hi Jenn! We're sooo glad you've come to visit us. We're a little cranky because we need rain, but it's always somehow accompanied by high winds. . . which we do not need.

So what do you grow, what do you want to grow?

I should think that rain, even if accompanied by wind, would be beautiful in a drought such as Texas has suffered through this year, just saying. Whistling

Thanks! I grow lots of flowers and vegetables. At the moment I don't have much more than tomatoes, snap peas, and lettuces growing. But I've been working to turn our property into more of a homestead, and so love reading about what people have been doing with small livestock, companion planting, permaculture, and all that good stuff!

We got 11/4" of rain and the pastures all greened up right away! Now we're going to have a freeze tonight; I hope it doesn't kill all the newly sprouted grass.

Isn't it amazing how a little rain can "green up" everything? Hope your grass didn't freeze last night, porkpal. We only got to 35, but that's cold enough to make the plants that I didn't get covered look pretty droopy.
