Cleaned up the color kicks in when they dry so each batch is different color I don't have that to a science but that's ok.

Those are really nice Randy. I like the natural shape of them when done this way.

Lynn, theres no such thing as hijacking a thread in my opinion. These are discussion forums and anything goes! Hurray! I love learning new techniques too!

I guess hijacking wasn't the correct term. *Blush* Rolling on the floor laughing Boy, that just brought a picture of pirates into my head. Rolling on the floor laughing
I just wish I could make it all go into one thread. Maybe if I ask Dave? Be back.

Lynn, I just looked this over too. I see Randy makes a sand mound and builds his pots on top of the mound. When I made my recent ones, I dug a hole in the sand and made it in the hole. Looks like either way works fine!

What do you think - will slag abrasive work instead of sand in hypertufa? It's black, so hoping it won't show too much. It should work, right? It is after all, a mineral that is cooked. I have an endless supply of it, as HH is working at a metal fabricating shop as one of the sandblasters, and this is what they use. Update to follow - I really want to make some pinch pots, now that I have umpteen million seedlings of Jovibarba heuffelii and other species. Won't that be cute?
