The plant handled transition to the outdoors environment well. The flower buds are holding on the plant.

I frequently saw Asagao growing in front of private residences when I walked around Fukui and Fukuoka Japan in 2009. So I put Namsan (on the left) and Cab Calloway out in our front garden. Unfortunately they do not get much direct sunlight, they are still growing nicely.

I think RK may be working on it. Once I get better photos of the calyx in better light there is a better chance at an ID.

My first morning glory from the seeds I sowed. It's a cross from a generous member.

Ronnie I wanted to let you know that I tried the Dk Blue Blizzard seed you sent me. I got some to germinate and they were almost 3 ft long when they started to die. The heat here in June broke a 130 year record, many days over 110 F. I kept them in filtered shade then brought them to the patio as they are in a pot but they rotted away. I was so close to getting them to bud. Sighing! Sighing! Sighing! Well, I have many more seeds you gifted me with and perhaps I will try for a fall plant. Are these types of Morning Glories more sensitive to heat?

My heavenly blues fried as well, only the Grandpa Otts have survived and the Gold Finches have eaten the leaves off of most of them so it has been a bad Morning Glory year for me. Crying

Enjoying seeing all the photos of every ones beautiful successes!! Big Grin

Linda so sorry to hear that Thumbs down The Nils do tend to wilt a bit in the heat, although they do like it warm, 110 is pretty darn hot Blinking I have mine in both direct afternoon sun and some in more shaded areas. Did you just lose leaves to scorch or the whole plant?
