It was raining good this early morning. The long line was south of us. Were getting an ''arm'' off the main path. Otherwise we would have nothing at all. Total with the 1/8th we already had is half an inch.

More rain over night, it's been mostly cloudy today, windy, 50f degrees, may get more rain later today. I don't like the shorter days either, don't like getting up at 6:30 or so and it's still dark.

I know Margaret - just doesn't seem like I should get up yet when it's dark And soon we will be waking up and going home from work in the dark

Ginny, yes and I hate that, it gets depressing after awhile, I am always so happy when the days start to get longer, even if it is just a minute or two a day.

Yes, quite a change in the forecast from a day or two ago. We are in the clear here but Florida is really going to get it bad.

Tornado siren went off last night so I got dressed and came out to watch the news. Still had power. That was a good sign. Tornado didn't happen and thankfully, was in the country if it had. As I sat there I saw a shadow. Yep a big spider ran across the chair seat beside me and down the front. I want to know who died and made me Miss Muffet?

I'll take the shorter days, too. I don't mind getting up in the dark. I get up around 5:30 and it is dark all year at that time.

They are calling for a high of 90F. Won't this summer ever end? We had 11% humidity yesterday. There is a fire weather warning because it is so dry and somewhat breezy.

A lovely day here. Sunny and warm enough but not too warm. Does feel warmer than yesterday.

Concerned for all of our members in Florida, Georgia and the Carolina's. Hurricane Mathew looks like a bad one.

After hearing from the South and from California about having too much summer, I guess I'm thinking the change of season here is good, I just wish we had more Spring, Summer, and Fall and LESS Winter

25F in the AM warming to low 50's in the afternoon; totally clear skies and frost on the pumpkins (if I had any) til around noon. Breezes don't help but only about 1-2mph.

Ground surface is freezing then thawing for now. Still have some garden edging (Ajuga and Sedum) to get in. Trees are mostly just yellow or orange. I do have some amur maple bushes out back and they are glorious red/orange. I think the colors in the northeast esp Michigan are to die for. Some day I would love to do a color tour there.

Sun is up at 8:23 and down at 7:10. Losing 5+ minutes a day. Yup I hate to see it go. Getting up in the dark after summer ends is depressing. And I am up around 5-6 so its a long few hours waiting for the sun. Ain't going to get any better til Dec 22.
