Not much has changed the past few days, cloudy with temps in the 40's to upper 50's. We did get a little heavy misting yesterday but nothing to put moisture in the ground. Tomorrow is suppose to be warmer with some sun.
Saw the hurricane on the news and it looked like it is taking a track further west then thought yesterday? East Florida up into the Carolina's the possible path. It's good to have a plan in case things turn bad, stay safe!!!

Tropicals
We are on Daytona's barrier island and they close the high bridges to the mainland when winds reach 35 mph. That's one consideration. Also, the highways will be full as the storm gets closer because people from South FL flee north on the interstate, without thinking that the storm is moving the same way too. No place for all those people to hunker down when they get tired. The interstate will be bumper to bumper 4 lanes wide as far as the eye can see. Because of this, if we decide to leave, we need to do it when we can get ahead of the pack. If we stay and panic because of bridge closings, the chance of finding a hotel room on the mainland is slim. We can't stay with friends, too stressful for them and us going through the high winds and heavy rains plus the increased demand on food and water that two extra people bring. Either stay home or get out early.

Partly sunny. SE wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Ginny,
I've heard that lament from so many gardeners who have to work. I don't know how you get it all done, ever.

Arlene,
What a dilema. I hope you make it to a nice place to stay. What a decision to have to make.
HUGS and prayers going out.

Rain headed our way over the next few days. Wind out of the SE. Might happen. We got the tomatoes pulled and most of the garden hoed. I had sour smelling dirt under the apple tree. Luckily I had lime left and I sprinkled it all over.

Sally, don't send your rain my way, please. We have had enough to last a month. Got 4" last week.

Sunny today with a predicted high in the lower 70's. Will be working in the garden today for sure.

Cindy, wow, 4 inches of rain last week. We used to get rain like that but anymore, we get about that much in a year.

They are calling for a high of 78F. Not much gardening to do except the eternal watering.

Yes, the weather was making up for the summer drought I guess. We had a lot of freeways under water.

Cindy,
Good, because I was going to hoard it. We need ground water to get thru the winter.
Roads under water are not good.

Ginny,
It depends on how much I get. Are you north, south, east or west of me?

Kelli,
Funny how weather patterns can change. My bigest fear is turning into a desert.

Charley,
Pat pat pat for those cold temps.

Yesterday was lovely, got the willow tree pruned, always a big job annually.

It was raining when I got up, stopped shortly after that, has been mostly cloudy, chance of more showers, only 47f degrees.

A little warmer last night with 54, high today was 63 with cloudy skies again. They're saying we should see sun and temps around 70 tomorrow and Thursday, we'll see. This weekend we could finally get some rain. The storms out west will be coming in and possibly rain with wind from the hurricane. They really don't seem to know much about where it will go after South Carolina. Memories of Irene, they didn't know where that one was going either and never said anything about Vermont getting slammed by it until it was here. Thinking of folks in the path of this one and hope everyone gets out of harms way, better safe than sorry.

Kelli and Linda, that is great that you've both cooled off a bit Thumbs up

Finally had time to play a little with the new camera. If the weather cooperates there might be a few more images of daylilies this season. The leaves are just starting to show color and I've started planning a few road trips to take images. Still enjoying the photo of the day on the link you gave us Charley, amazing work and the southwest is so beautiful. I really must get out there sometime in the near future.

Not tooo far from me. You're closer to the State Fair, lol!
We run to Pella very occasionally, so I've been near your area.
