The wind is gone. Today it is calm while overnight the wind sounded like a freight train it was really blowing. Even more so than it had during the day.

Only a high if 20 or so I think. It does feel crisp out there.

Thank you Signet. I tip my hat to you.

Kelli that is great that you got some rain! Hurray!

Linda, here's hoping that you get some too! Crossing Fingers!

Not quite as cold last night, the water line didn't freeze, only -21f, Glare sunny and crisp with a high of 10f. I went out to feed the birds and the snow was making lots of scrunching sounds under my feet. I'm sure all you southerns have no idea what I'm talking about. Rolling on the floor laughing

Hurray! for rain Kelli even if it is overnight.

It's -1f right now. Suppose to warm up near 20f overnight with snow coming in for tomorrow, 3 - 8" expected before the rain comes in for early Sunday morning. This morning was -10, high today 9 above. I don't think the wind was all that bad last night, just a light breeze this morning and very few branches on the ground beyond what had already fallen. It could have been worse.... I could have been at Margaret's Big Grin or only about 60 miles away on the top of Mt. Washington where it was ... temp + windchill....-87f.

Snow, mainly after noon. Patchy blowing snow after 9 am. Temperature falling to around 11 by 5 pm. Wind chill values as low as -5. Blustery, with a NW wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around 2 inches.

I didn't get a speck of weather yesterday and I am so glad!!

We picked up about another 3" of snow overnight. It's supposed to get real messy towards late afternoon with freezing rain and we have a Christmas party to go to. Not looking forward to going out in that mess. Glad DH is driving and not me.

They are calling for a high of 59F. There was a frost advisory but it only got down to 44F. The house got colder overnight than usual.

We also have a 'Special Statement'. This might almost make you laugh. This was written last night. (I do not live in the Antelope Valley. That is one valley in more inland than me. It gets hard freezes and sometimes snow. I am in one of 'the valleys'.)

'The combination of strong winds and cold temperatures will bring
unusually brisk conditions across the valleys tonight with wind
chill readings falling into the 20s in some locations... and values
into the teens across the Antelope Valley and Santa Monica Mountains.'

We got those 'special statements' as well for high winds, Kelli.

We received .65 of rain last night. DH and I neither heard the rain or the winds, but several large pots were down this morning so I guess we had wind! Hilarious!

So we had snow overnight and then freezing rain on top. Not enough rain and not warm enough for the rain to wash away the snow as the darn weather guessers had said it would. They said a dusting. We had about 4 inches. Under was a layer of wet slush that wants to freeze.

Boy was this crap difficult to shovel. It stuck on each shovelful and didn't want to slide off!! I really didn't think I could manage to get it done but I had to get it off the porch steps and the pathway down to the sidewalk. So I struggled along and cleared it off as best I could. It is done as good as it gonna get and I am back inside.

Rita I read once that spraying a snow shovel with something like PAM would help the snow slide right off. Of course I have no experience with this as you might guess. Whistling

We are suppose to get down to 20 below tonight for the first time in 3 years. We had lots of snow yesterday around eight inches on top of what we already had on the ground. Thankful we have our neighbor always clean our driveway. All I did was clean off the front steps and sidewalk, the snow was fluffy so it was not bad.
