It would be nice if we kept a few inches of snow on the semps. It seems to make them very happy.

Yes Bev, I have two of Erwin's seedlings out in the seedling bed. It will be interesting to see what they look like this coming spring. One I find very interesting, it is solid green with very fat and thick leaves. And also a very pleasing form (waterlily form).

Sounds beautiful and most interesting. I like green semps!

Lynn, Is this the one you are talking about? I saw this post last Aug. and it included a photo of Erwin's Seedling. I also like the form and color green on this one!

Yes, that is the one Bev. The photo doesn't begin to show how thick the leaves are.

Went out to look at the seedlings today. Not really to much in changes but this one was pretty.

it is just 'Blue Whale' but probably should be BIG Blue Whale as it is 8" in size.

Thought Greg would like those watermarks.

Those are all gorgeous semps! Each one has such beautiful coloration patterns. I'm a newbie, so please tell me what you all call the different types of coloration.

HOLY SMOKES! Kevin's been busier and more discriminating than the bees out there. Blue Whale is one good-looker and I like the "candy stripe-r" one (2nd to last)!

The last two are ones where the watermarks are really prominent. One of my lines started with 'Jungle Shadows' and these are some F3 seedlings from it that have much more of them and more consistent.

The orange and the red-green bicolor have strong basal colors. The red-green is a HUGE rosette and brighter than that in real life. It has been one of the favorites of garden visitors. The orange one is from a parent that has a trace of that basal color but this seedling has much more and better shape.

'Blue Whale' has a glaucous coating of wax that gives the impression of a blue rosette.

Could be, I really love those water marks. So you got my curiosity up on the orange seedling and looked at it on my computer screen. Wow that is nice too. Have to look at these on the big screen to do them justice. The phone is just too small. Come on April for clinic.

I was just going to ask about 'Sandi Lui' . Wish she could come to clinic. Anyone in contact with her see if she is able to come? Don't think I have seen a picture of 'Jabba the Hut'? Sounds interesting fat and what color?

Jabba is fat and green with purple tips. Very short fat leaves but a big rosette, 6.5-7". I have never seen this shape before.

I miss Sandi too. Was hoping they would move here to Oregon as both her hubby and she love it here. They loved the little quaint town Independence just down the road from Lynn and I.
