Hi Joanna, thank you so much for your help. No I don't really know what format, mostly because I'm a computer dummy that likes to take pictures. I was just talking with someone about my issue who mentioned band width. My internet service is with a satellite dish and we have restrictions. So now I'm thinking my issue might be because the grandsons were here over Christmas on their iphones doing whatever it is they do and may have pushed our usage limits. Going to check with our provider to see if that's the issue.

What do you think about that possibility? Thanks again. nodding

If it were a bandwidth thing, you would (most likely) be having the same problem with your older pictures....BUT, it's possible that your new camera is set to take more data-intense photos, i.e., a format that uses more data (is not or is less compressed) or a setting for the same format that asks for a higher number of pixels. Also, once again, your camera might have a proprietary format that has to be converted before you can use it in more common settings such as a website.

To find out, go into your files on your computer. The format is shown in the file extension, that's the part after the period in the file name and it's usually three or four letters and/or numbers. The most readily accepted format is what's called a JPEG. Usually (but not always), your file name appears like this: [file name] .jpg

If your files don't show the extensions, then there are ways to get them to show, or to find the information.

If you want to tell us what type of camera you're using, please include the model name and number, and maybe we can find out for you! Some cameras allow you to choose the format, while others don't. For those that don't, you can usually convert them using an app.

HTH!

Thank you for your help, Joanna. It's weird because although some of the files are different sizes, it looks like it's inconsistent as to the upload issue. I'm trying to load a smaller file right now but it's taking a loooong time and says "waiting for garden.org". I was able to upload pics on FB and email no problem. Shrug!

I'm not sure what the problem is but I don't want to clog up this thread with it. Joanna, I'll look into the issues that you've suggested and maybe start a thread in a more appropriate thread and link it here. Thank You!

Oh! That sounds like a "time out" issue. That happens when it takes too long go up/download. That can be related to file size (too big=too long) and to internet speed on your end.

Whatever it is, I hope you resolve it. Crossing Fingers!
