I found the iris Baby Barn Owl on the wiki. org site. Don't know how to make a link work.

On a note of whatever-happened-to-my-self-control, I started loading Sissinghurst irises into a shopping cart... I'm waiting until tomorrow before I check out, to see if reason prevails. D'Oh! Whistling

Mika, reason flew out the door with the Baby Barn Owl.
Very cute pictures and thank you for the link.

Patchwork Puzzle is kind of temperamental in my garden, but its mother, Wild Angel, performs like a champ. Similar coloring, not quite as dramatic as PP, but great form, taller, and a bigger blossom.PP has that lovely bit of gold edging on the standards and deeper coloration though. I love them both.

Welcome Grace!!

I lost my Patchwork Puzzle last year. Sad It never really did well. Still I wouldn't mind growing it again...but I 'm not sure I want to buy another...for now anyway. I've had great luck with Mardi Gras Ball which is similar.

Welcome Grace! Welcome!

Patchwork Puzzle is a must have for me. I did place an order with one vendor, but they didn't have Patchwork Puzzle. So maybe it will be on next years order sheet.

I want very few tall ones. One is BB Grapenut. I had it on my list for awhile but when Leslie posted her photos I was smitten. Then there is TB Sergey. I should have ordered it this year but waiting for the price to drop a bit. TB Bohemia after dark..... but I need to see some more photos of it before I take that leap. If it turns out to be just another iris with purple falls then.... no. The rest are all little guys. One that is American made and yet very elusive is SDB Robin's Nest. It is not that old either - 2003. This year I have placed a few orders trying to cut down my long running wish list. The problem is that so many newer ones posted are just so beautiful that in spite of my efforts my wish list is grooooowiiiiing. I may have to get some of the newer ones to compensate for not finding the older ones on my wish list. I think that may take my mind completely off it. Smiling
