I have a nice little shower of fragrant little Brassies here tonight. This is a big cork raft with 3 little Apopka plants mounted on it. Only one of them had a tag, Brassavola Jairak Kiss but these flowers don't look like that one did.
They're very delicate lavender on the edges (the camera washes out the blue, sadly). Really smell heavenly for such little flowers - less than 2in. across. Please excuse the romantic 'hazy' appearance - some clumsy person put a big greasy fingerprint on the camera lens. Couldn't have been me . . . .
My Bl. Little Lulu has finally managed to open one flower. It has a whole bunch more to go. I've googled 'Little Lulu' under several different orchid titles and never seem to get a flower that looks remotely like this. It's strange because the seller I got this one from has been very consistent and accurate with his tags.
One more scenting the cage out there in the dark, this one was also mis-labeled as a Yellow Bird and is obviously B. nodosa or a daughter thereof. The scent is unmistakeable.
