Evan, we have met in person many times over these last years. Gardening friends are forever. I used to live in Dallas, OR, so we had get-togethers often. I now live in Oregon City. If you are ever up this way let me know, we can plan a get-together. Smiling

Bev,

Always good to see your collection and also beautiful planters/ plantings.

Evan, There's a whole cluster of us here. Perennial Obsessions, seedable plants, Bev, Connie, and I all live fairly close. The Willamette Valley is full of fun nurseries. I moved here because I could grow everything the English could! SUCH FUN!

There are perks to being a fan. Kevin points me to the tried and true best eateries around the area.

Here's the weekend I met Kevin; could you tell it was raining?

Hehe yes I remember seeing someone posting one of that kind of photos on this forum.
It's very true that Kevin probably has the highest concentration of semps on any 1 property. He just needs to install roof garden beds and he's probably got the world record for sure.

If one day I ever visited Oregon and get to visit yall gardens, I'd spend hours photographing everything, not mentioning the time it would tkae to clear out the iPhone storage after doing so Rolling on the floor laughing

I need that in my yard one day. nodding There's a reason they call them "houseleeks". People plant them on their roofs, walls. Everywhere. On top of their hobbit hole.

Oh Bev, you can tell we are really into this to be suffering in the rain like we were! At least the dinner at Robert's Crossing made up for it!

Alex, yes there are lots of semps in the yard but I actually have lots of other plants too. I will probably have 30 K seedlings to row out this spring. My biggest crop ever. I've got to clean out several beds just to make room for this crop!

Evan, None on the roof here. Most of mine are planted in 6' x 25' beds that are 8" deep with soil and mulched with chicken grit #2.

Ooh Kevin you should share your new other-plant-hybrids once you release them... I think you do Iris, daylilies, hosta, spiderworts... ?

Alex,

Yes, but this is a SEMP forum. I realize we are not as uptight as some sites (I had a friend booted off a geranium one just for showing his garden!!) but I prefer to keep it mainly to semp-talk!

I do some iris groups on FB and occasionally put out pictures of my other breeding efforts there. Am having some nice results with cyclamen and Pulmonaria right now, for example.

My yard is fun though as I have projects going on in so many genera. I even got Lynn addicted to dwarf irises. She has the perfect spot for them in the edges of her beds.

Pulmonaria is a nice plant.

I have a few NoIDs right now.

Dirt,

I do put them on two FB forums! You will laugh that I have ~3K seedlings of the dwarfs up. They should be glorious in '23.
