Yeah,,,pretty...we don't get those here that I know about. I went to Houston and Surfside Beach and the only butterfly I remember seeing was a little hairstreak...and no pic of that even. It was HOT. The heat is really affecting me now.

Oh yeah, I like to watch when they emerge from their cocoon & begin to unfold & dry off. Their body is so fat at first & then it slowly becomes the slender form we are familiar with.

Lovely photos! How cool is that in the first photo where the butterfly has those small spots the exact color of the daylily? And in the second photo how deep the butterfly is burying itself going after that nectar --- now that's intensity!

I'd plant more beans and legumes (host plants) if I thought those (and other similar skippers) would come. I just have to have patience, however. One of these days, we'll get more species back after the drought.
