So, what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving this year?

Cooking! And having a couple of friends over.

Because of not being married anymore. I have Christmas at my home and the kids go to their dad's for thanksgiving dinner. I make a traditional-to-us breakfast that everyone attends. Then I go to the home of one of my closest friends to enjoy a thanksgiving meal.

We have had .55 of rain this afternoon. What a great November this has been. It is our third storm that produced rain ! We drove thru very heavy rain going across town to church this morning. The white clouds were to the ground making it look like all the mountains had disappeared ! Loving this.

Linda, we have had a lot more rain this fall than I recall. Isn't it wonderful? It rained on and off last night here and it's cloudy right now.

Hooray for the rain you're getting! I do make a turkey, with all the sides (even if it's just Tony and I... I love making Thanksgiving dinner). Tony makes Christmas dinner, also a turkey, but with more 'british' sides (parsnips, swede, brussel sprouts). I was maybe going to try a leg of lamb this year if it was just the two of us, but it looks like we'll be having at least a couple of others, so it's turkey. I think I'd miss the turkey if I didn't make it anyway!

We received even more rain this afternoon and finished up the day with .70 !

Marie, it's simple since the bigger meal is later but for the past 30+ years I make bacon, sweet rolls and serve juices and coffee. Last year I added a crust-less quiche to it that is egg, ham, cheese, mushroom and fresh spinach.

Well, all of this cooking is wearing me out! ... and getting me hungry. I'm craving T-giving dinner. Since it's just me, even if I visit a friend for TG I cook my own the day after. And I love leftovers. It's one of those meals that you need to have the foods and flavors you grew up with. I like my turkey dressing with Bell's sage seasoning and dried apricots. I like the gravy made a certain way and mashed potatoes with crushed roasted garlic. I've like French crust apple pie rather than pumpkin pie. Sounds like we're getting ready! Yum!

If I could only eat one thing: stuffing!

I was just saying to one of my fellow cooks at the restaurant, though it is so not "foodie", I love the stupid mashed yams with marshmallows on top. Yep. And I am a foodie, and a pretty darn good cook, and still I love that.

Somebody needs to change the calendar to December.........
