Rolling on the floor laughing Just leave all that stuff laying out on the floor in the RV. When he has to trip over it or step on some kitchen gadgets in the middle of the night he might bring less Rolling on the floor laughing

My friend who just moved up here to live in an RV said "oh dont worry, Im not bringing that much stuff. Just what can fit in my van" She brought about 100 books, tons and tons of DVDs (who has time to watch those anyhow?) and NO tv to watch them on! tons and tons of clothes, old costumes from years ago, etc etc. Most is now sitting outside in bins because she now realizes her mistake Rolling on the floor laughing

After 8 months of living in my tiny home I really need to go through all my 'stuff' again and get rid of tons more. My problem right now is that Im buried in tools in here because Im constantly building and using them all. I cant wait until I can pack them up and store them away for a while LOL

You really have to pare it down to the basics if you're going to live in a tiny house or RV. Sometimes I think it must be freeing to only have the basics and not a lot of 'stuff' everywhere. Your friend needs to have a yard sale!

We don't have a camper, but our youngest son has had, "Ruby" for about ten years.
He imported it from Utah, consequently it had no rust. It's the last "splitty" made before they started making the "Bay."
He completely restored it with the help of his partner's brother-in-law, who had a body shop and let him work on it there. It had reclining front seats which he removed, reinstated the bulkheads and found some original seats and had them reupholstered in memory foam and cream leather. He also did all the woodwork

His partner made the curtains on her sewing machine. They've taken it all over Europe on holiday, even Switzerland.

@annaz
the Breville ( I was worried it would not fit.... actually could have been BIGGER!! )

We picked up the RV in freezing weather. Was our fault we did not look at the outdoor kitchen. We left the RV at the park thru the fla summer and so we left electric on.....
Then we came back..never used the outdoor kitchen... and left again. No need to leave the electric running.. it was winter... Now we are back.. RV is moved and while we were gone the ants moved in... so I was cleaning up the outside kitchen in anticipation of leaving the new Breville oven out there........

GUESS WHAT... the dealership left the outside fridge on!! Not only did I pay to run it when the electric was on..but there was enough ice in it to freeze the abominable snowman for a century... . I am so surprised it did not break it... I defrosted it and the ice fell out in huge chunks, some still on the ground...hours later (in S Florida.)

Live and learn
We also see the gas line plug in ( quick connect ) for the outside burners is really too short..it makes it...but just....

When we came home for Christmas he shut off the water. Had to leave the electric on because of the fridge/freezer. Turned the gas off too.

Yes, I never leave water attached. I am too green..not confident enough that a valve wont go renegade and flood the RV. I just thought leave the air on but set kinda high would help with mustiness and dampness. We shut propane off. We shut the fridge down even tho it takes forever to get cold enough to support food. If we left it on, we would leave propane on too in case electric is lost, it has an auto turnover.

But we had no idea that the outside little fridge has been running for the entire time when electric has been on .... it was a mess.lucky we looked to see if ants had invaded

Blinking Now some of the stuff is , let us say, because he could, and odd even to me, Rolling on the floor laughing but if you were a guy who ran into need it but did not have or worse, had it but it broke, you would know why for some tools , the words too many do not exist. We used to carry those little dime store charcoal grill you got for a few bucks when we went camping but always had wood or charcoal for a campground or road side park steel stand grill.
Cooked more than a few steaks in a wayside park. I tip my hat to you.

How many drill bits do you need? A thousand? I dont think so. In a 38 foot trailer... how many 32 inch tvs do you need? In a two person family HOW MANY OUTSIDE CHAIRS DO YOU NEED TO CART AROUND AND OR STORE IN THE RV GARAGE ?? 2 ?? 4? HOW ABOUT 8!! EIGHT CHAIRS!! How many big heavy locks do you need? 3 -4? 6??? How about 12??? how many BUCKETS to wash the car or RV? 1, 3 or FIVE?? And don't let me get started in those mitts that look like string mops.. how about hoses? To bring water into the rig and one to flush it... how about six? I counted six but I have a sneaky feeling there are more under the RV. How many step stools for an RV that is 38 feet and with only two inhabitants ?

Got a foot high, a 3 foot high a 5 foot high and an 8 foot ladder and I think the last one is a 10 AND THE RV AND THE MOTOR HOME ALREADY COMES WITH LADDERS STRAPPED TO THE BACK TO GET TO THE ROOF

Sorry, Rosie, we got ya beat in the chair department...1 in the kitchen, 4 folding chairs for,the folding table, 4 that fold up and put in their bags, and 2 bungee chairs.

1-3 step stool for reaching those high cupboards inside ( but he gets torqued at me for always standing on the swivel kitchen chair....tells me I am gonna fall off and hurt myself. Ya, ya, ok, I did fall off it ONCE and halfway sprained my wrist...... Whistling Whistling ). He also has a stepladder, then there is the ladder ON the RV itself.

Any input re tent trailers? We are thinking of selling our Class C and downsizing. I've found I don't care much for winter camping - the only logical way to go is south and then we're in the desert which I've seen enough of. And camping during the summer isn't a big draw for me either - too crowded. When I looked back through our trip photos, my favorites were renting cabins/houses. We tried that driving our car, but ended up at motels more often than I would like. I wouldn't be opposed to pulling a compact bed on wheels for one-night stays while traveling from one spot to the next, thinking we could then plan ahead a bit better and reserve cabins for a week or so at a time. The key word is 'planning' which I suck at...

I've never even looked inside a tent-trailer, and am wondering how tricky they are to set up. Wondering if there are any with a one-bed floor plan - we have zero use for a 2nd bed and that space could be much better used for either storage or more comfy seating.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
