We arrived to our RV park in Punta Gorda the week before thanksgiving. We have lots of family there..( two of my siblings, nieces, nephews ) so the holidays flew by. I missed the kids and grands... we did a LOT of FaceTiming...but it was sure nice not to have to host the holidays as I have done for more than 4 decades. Gift cards and checks this year and no shopping and no wrapping nice too. I did. LOT OF COOKING ..all our family recipes... and in that tiny RV kitchen (it's a joke calling that!) We saw many new cities..met LOTS of people, went to the beach, ate in different settings, floated down rivers.. visited galleries, festivals and Heavenly HUGE farmers markets with great crafts and food..... we did the things we both enjoy. We also participated in some resort activities.. but we did not drink as much as many do - which is integral part of many activities. Mardi Gras was a hoot, we played this poker card game at many different sites.. But, I never rode the pool bull.
Didn't eat the free donuts at each weeks residents meeting either. Yes to sundae Sunday. Encore did put on some fine soirées .. food and entertainment. Next year I may get on the board to help with charitable activities. We did sit round many a fire and or play Jenga until the no seeums got bad. Then, the virus hit.. everyone sheltered in place ..ONE person "Joe Ronzoni" BEFORE the virus was official was sick with every single symptom.. this was January.. We took turns bringing him food and he laid low for many weeks. I would love to see an antibody test on him.. I discovered Culver's .. fast food but good.. and Soet .. it is an ice cream shop..Dutch.. oh my HUGE FRESH CREAMY and half the price it should be. That's why I skipped the donuts
It was getting hot by the time we left..first week April..although the breeze on the deck along with the awning left out was divine most days. We really got to know our RV since this was first long stay. the fireplace did a great job hardly used the furnace. Our son visited once and he said the sofa bed was fine. He wanted to try the kids bunk, but I reminded him that he is 40. We polycoated the RV before we left. The treatment is good for a year.. just a hosing makes the dirt run off. It does a great job. It goes on real easy. no buff... dries in minutes. We put on 5 coats ..took about 3 hours?? Checked the caulking.. powdered the slide seals.. lubed the toilet bowl .. shined up the stainless and put the peppermint oil puffs and set out the damp rid... sprayed the underside for insects. blocked up the windows.. set the air.. power washed the tanks and off we went .
Home after an overnight at Marriott..we were the ONLY guests.
Home now sheltering in place ..enjoying our garden in the woods we have some mulch to,put down ........ugh.....
