Dear Judy, Gita, and Jill: you are all so wonderful, trying to help me, and also Pat, who patiently taught me how to find the Mid Atlantic Gardening forum online, I used to find it by accident, clicking here and there...., still have to learn a lot, how to dib, still do not know! Yes, I would like to try the holy basil and the Thai basil. I will just bring my lemon basil seeds and whoever wants it get take some. I will also find the chicken with holy basil recipe and post it (I never have made it, since I did not have enough holy basil). --Thank you thank you all. All the members of this group are so nice----Amazing how all the nice people in the area can be drawn together in this garden club.

Holy Basil is from the Indian subcontinent and wide spread through SE Asian sub tropics. Sacred plant in Hinduism.

I am sorry to say that I did not get any seeds collected from my A. perennis or A. purpurascens before the plants were stripped to stubs by milkweed tussock moth caterpillars. I am not even sure the plants will return this year. Sad

Ouch David so sorry to hear this. I have some fresh Purple Milkweed seeds coming in from a seed swap and some perennis seeds I'm eying from Florida. Wondering if seeds acclimated to Fla would do okay here as we are almost at cold tolerence levels for the plant. Are you interested if I have some to share?

@critterologist Does the dibbing on seeds start tonite?
There are only 4 people who have listed seeds to swap so far:@Donnerville, @Muddy1, @Aspenhill and @Thomasjones4466.
Does anyone know if Thomas is aware that this is an 'in person' swap?

OMG! How time gets by! MM you just woke me up to the fact that the swap is in just 15 days!! Guess I better go to the basement fridge and pull out my seeds.

I've been in touch with Thomas... he's not participating, didn't read the "in person" part.

I'll get some seeds listed tonight, I hope.

I think the tool uses GMT, meaning swapping should open just after midnight GMT, which = 7 pm here. Maybe it would be better to start at 7 pm tomorrow (Friday night) and give people a few more hours to list seeds... I'll do that.

Oh golly, I just clicked on the chat thread and realized I'd never added the directions for using the seed swap tool. (I wrote them up on Word and thought I'd copied them over weeks ago)

Click here for step by step instructions https://garden.org/thread/view...
Also, I see Dave has added a video to the top of the tool, explaining how to use it.

Here is a link to the Seed Swap Tool tutorial video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

@Critterologist thanks for the info on @Thomasjones2266. If he is not a participant maybe you could get him to go to this seed swap and check the box "Leave This Swap" That will automatically remove any seeds he has listed from the list for this swap before trading begins tomorrow. All of those veggie seeds are mighty tempting
but I want to use my dibs on seeds really available.

Thanks

MM, he said he can't figure out how to un-join, and I can't find a way on the host control panel, so I emailed Dave just now for help.

Trading will start TOMORROW at 7 pm EST.

@critterologist and @Thomasjones2266 et all After one has joined a swap there is a page that says "You are a member of this swap!"
Under this are two lists:
Your Profile to the left and The Swap to the right.
Under Your Profile there are three links:
.Manage your own swap list
.Manage your swap profile
and >Leave this swap

Clicking on the Leave this swap will take one to a page where one can confirm the intent to leave the swap (Are you sure you want to leave?) Confirming that one wants to leave will remove all offerings one has listed if done prior to any 'dibbing" for that swap.
I believe that one can rejoin the swap if one's circumstances change while the swap is still 'reqruiting members'.
