Kellogg's breakfast and Virginia Sweets are coming along, lots of flowers but no fruit yet; Gold Rush has little fruits that are not quite ripe, maybe today; and Sarkany Is coming a long as well.

I noticed that all my potato leaved tomato plants are just now starting to get blooms. The regular leaf tomatoes I'm already picking tomatoes. Anyone know if that means the pl tomatoes will ripen in the Texas summers when the regular leaf tomatoes are resting? I don't know what variety of pl it is, as it was a mixed package of heirlooms.

I harvested my first Black Krim yesterday....it had a fruit about 1.5" diameter before it ever got into it's permanent home. It was wonderful! Nothing else close to ripening yet, but lots of large fruits on Sophie's Choice and Murhurlu. Many small fruits on everything else. Strangely enough, my cherry tomato (Chocolate Cherry) isn't setting fruit yet....those are usually the first to start producing.

Strange things happen sometimes. I fretted over my four German Johnsons that I managed to get planted in my
small raised bed garden because I wasn't seeing any little tomatoes despite lots of blooms. Then suddenly there
they were! Can't wait to slice into one. Next year I hope to have tomatoes galore! Little cukes on my cucumber
plants, shallots doing so-so and my beans are just growing. Going to be a late harvest here, methinks.

I'm getting some green zebra tomatoes ripening. Don't really like them much, but they are ok mixed in a salsa. Are they always ugly looking with black/bruised spots, and mushy areas?

Don't think the mushy areas would be normal.

I picked my first Kellog's Breakfast and a delicious Aunt Ruby's German Green. Shared Aunt Ruby's with a friend who had never had a green tomato and he was impressed. Also picked two more Stump of the World.

The tomatoes I had yesterday were small ones. But early and small is better than nothing. Hilarious!

Still nothing to pick here.

However, the neighbor and I met at the fence last night to discuss our gardens. Mine is visible from his side of the lot. His garden is not visible to me, and I think he gets more shade, from what I can tell. During our talk, I discovered that I have much more growing than he does. Most of his plants are still small and he has no tomatoes on his plants yet, just flowers. Even the Roma plants I gave him aren't producing fruit yet. I have at least a dozen Romas on each plant. Except the one that is in a bucket, it just has one small tomato.

Next year, I hope to have a bunch of heirloom tomatoes. Thinking that by then, I will have better soil and fewer problems. If I survive this year. I'm just about ready to throw temper tantrums each day I look at my tomato plants and don't see any blushing of my tomatoes. Then I calm down enough to mope about as I do the other garden chores.

Still want to see photos of some of the tomatoes you all harvest.

Oh yes, I am enjoying having some really early tomatoes this year even if they are not big ones. I have plenty of larger types coming along later.

Everything here is running 2-4 weeks behind because of our unusually cold and wet spring. Veggies and flowers are both just way later than usual. Getting lots of fruits on my tomatoes, but nothing close to being ripe yet. Hopefully all of this waiting will make us appreciate our later harvest all the more!

No ripe ones here yet either, but a local man who plants Better Boys has tomatoes, so I'm making do with them
until my own ripen. They're ever so much better than anything the store has to offer.

I have a variety package of heirloom tomatoes. Does anyone recognize what kind this is? It is ripe, even thou the top's still green.

We ate it for lunch, was very tasty.
Also, my second planting of tomatoes has started blooming. Bought seeds from the famous Whitinger Seed Co. I started a third planting June 15. Who knows, may get a few before frost?

Tomatoes are taking a heat break. No new one setting, though they still bloom.

No heirlooms here as yet but my Brandywine has actually set a fair amount of green tomatoes! Hurray! Usually I get horrid production from the times I have tried Brandywines. This time I have only one plant. Trying again after years of failure.

Never tasted a brandywine, but I have one potato leafed plant left that hasn't produced even a blossum yet. So, maybe... ..? I planted seeds from a variety pack of heirlooms.
