@FrillyLily:

There will always be options for desktops. There are still so many people who use desktops, and most of the people who are on mobile still use or have some sort of computer (whether PC or laptop). Think about peoples' jobs. Most people who get on zoom meetings and whatnot will use their computers. Also, think about schooling. Especially now in these times of trouble, so many kids are using computers to stay connected with their schools, not to mention many college students doing college online.

I could very well be wrong, but I don't believe there will ever be a day where there will be no more options for computers. Smiling

Thank You! Thanks for the reference to the written guide. My frustration is that I would like to be notified of any new posts to a specific forum (Photography Tips and Techniques). I can follow individual threads but cannot seem to find a way to be notified of any new posts in the forum. Suggestions? Confused

Isn't there a "Watch This Forum" box over on the top right of each forum under the search box?

Larry is correct, but you also have to make sure you have put this little feature on your homepage (you can do this by customizing your homepage):
Thumb of 2021-01-23/KFredenburg/39a16d

If you don't have that on your homepage, you will not be able to see when a new post/reply is made in a watched forum.

After putting that feature on your homepage, you should see something similar to this on the homepage:
Thumb of 2021-01-23/KFredenburg/41a598

You don't need to customize your homepage to notify you when someone posts anything new into a particular forum, that is set automatically to show up on your home page. You do have to click the 'Watch this Forum' as Larry mentioned.

to clarify I'd like to know when someone posts a new thread to a forum. What I get are notices that someone has posted a reply to a thread I watch. So I have to go to each forum to see if there is anything new.

Go to the forum you want to watch and off to the right, you should see "Watch this forum." Mine says "Unwatch this forum" because I'm currently watching the Sitetalk Forum. Smiling

Make sure you are in the forum page and not a thread in the forum. You can watch a thread in any forum without watching the forum. I know this can get confusing!

Hmm, that's weird. I had to add it, it wasn't automatic for me.
