There are so many new ones. I wonder how many all together there are? Below are 31 of some real beauties.

Just took a peek at this sight and for sure I am drooling.

NJBob has lots of beautiful Heucheras, quite a nice collection. I tip my hat to you. They are really tough plants in my zone. Some are over 20 years old and Survived the critters.

There are so many varieties and so colorful, always makes me smile 😃. I have been hooked on these plants and the best part is gophers and deer don't like them… Hurray!

Rose you have a nice collection too. I tip my hat to you. Your way ahead of me. How do they hold up in your winters?

I wish more were long lived, it seems the nicer colors have the shorter live spans. Tough Winters around here make me lose a few a year.

Heucherella are hybrids that combine the flowering habit of Heuchera and foam flower. But they don't seem to be as winter hardy

I just want to say hello to everyone in this forum Smiling You have some beautiful plants Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

@Rido, your new Heucheras are really pretty Lovey dubby They are probably all in the ground by now. If you have a chance, please post a picture of your Heuchera garden. I haven't had a lot of success with them, but I like them very much. The only one that is doing well for me is "Palace Purple" (I think.) I also bought a couple of Heucheras this fall and planted them in the new garden bed. One of these new ones was Caramel Crossing Fingers!

A couple of days ago, I bought seven Heucheras from the local supermarket. These plants were greenhouse plants; they were on sale for Christmas, together with some other indoor plants. They were not even labelled, but my guess was "Silver Frosting", or "Rave On" Confused More or less, I rescued them. I could not plant them right away because of the snow, but I covered these new Heucheras with oak leaves. Hope they will survive till spring Crossing Fingers!

I am looking forward to discussing Heucheras with you. Hope you will help me grow them. The new ones will be planted around three or four deep purple tree peonies, and if this succeeds, the colour combination in my "black corner" of the garden may be outstanding. I am really motivated to make this work because I love Heucheras very much.

Hi Jasmin..
The planting design you described with tree peony's planted with colorful huechs is a great idea. Heucks have nice colorful foliage and will open up any area in shade, they always scream for attention.

Some Coral bells (Heuchera), foam flowers (Heucherella) and foamy bells (Tiarella) are three closely related genera. While they can be also crosses of the above names plants.

Wonder if they are labeled as to what hybrids they are and if the zone is included or were only intended to sell/use as house plants. Just curious. Before putting greenhouse huechs you just purchased out in the garden be sure to harden them off first. Many of mine have survived cold and snow in the PNW using various techniques out in the garden.
Many are hardy others can be a little tricky . Good luck… Thumbs up

Bea, I've checked up on the new Heucheras, and it was really quite cold for them. Several minutes ago, I brought them into the porch, where they can overwinter (assuming that these first cold temperatures haven't killed them). They were not labelled when I got them; there was only a little sign "Heuachera". I believe they were grown to be short-lived house plants only. They look like Heucheras rather than Heucherellas or Tiarellas. They have lots of burgundy in them, but also lots of green and silverfish/pewterish overlay. Smiling

I had no luck with Tiarellas, so I gave up a while ago. As I said, the only Heuachera that has survived in my garden is Purple Palace. Since these new ones looked similar, I've decided to give them a try. Those plants would have died anyway; there was a full box of poor-looking, dry Heucaheras and I bought the whole box. Crossing Fingers! It's worth a try, because. as you said, the combination of burgundy tree peonies and burgundy Heaucheras would look great. Crossing Fingers!

Jasmin,
Wow what a good deal, I would have bought them all too. Plants are getting so spendy.
Great to have rescue huechs and some can be very hardy. Many of mine have been out in the garden for many years and root divisions taken then planted around in other areas.
Sounds like you have a good plan. I tip my hat to you.
Some leaf color you mentioned can look up on the database to ID them. Or include a pic (HERE)and many here might help ID your new huerchs..

Bea,
I brought the new Heuacheras into the porch yesterday. The snow and freezing temperature affected them, but they are not dead by any means. They did take a beating, but they do not worse than my Palace Purple which survives our winters for years. Anyway, they will stay in the porch until March.

Here is a picture of one of them. It will be highly appreciated if you try to ID the plant. I am really curious Smiling I am thinking "Rave On", "Silver Frosting", "Pewter Moon", or perhaps even "Blackberry Ice" Confused By the way, not all new leaves are green; some of them are burgundy Confused

Many Heucheras can be grown as indoor plants adding diversity to indoor plant collections. Then hardened off in spring and placed outside in pots or planted in the garden.
Looks like the leaf has been in cold temps , can effect the color. It's a wait til spring for new leaf growth shape and color to emerge. When it blooms will also help with ID .
Here is a pic taken today one of mine out in below 30' temps in protected area in a pot and leaves are silver blue green, usually in warmer temps all leave are purple / silver in color. Looks very different in warmer temps than it does today.
Maybe other heuchera Gardner's can chime in and help ID your newly acquired Heucheras. I tip my hat to you.

Bea, my additions look very similar to your Heuchera. Which one is that? Smiling

I am pretty sure mine will be winter hardy because they were outside on -7C (19.4F). But, as you suggested, let them harden a bit in the cold greenhouse, and hopefully, they will fully take off in spring Smiling

Rose, does your Tiarella spread on its own, or do you break it up?
