More violet I would say, I get that sometimes when the mornings are cool. See the entry for a similar one.

Amethyst Beauty

I don't see many people mention this one, and I don't understand why. It's got the richest, most velvety purple out there, so far as I'm concerned. As usual with clematis, photos don't do it justice.

This clemantis is always a double bloomer.

Thanks 😊 blooms always bring smiles.

It will bloom again in sept. Not as full but when it cools down in sept it has bloomed twice per season. Usually all my other clematis are a flash in the pan just one time blooms. Which is pretty fantastic anyway and always nice to see fresh bloom in sept when everyone else is getting a bit tired.

I love it too. The blooms are instantly recognizable -- not like so many clems that look similar to each other. The flowers have a thick velvet look in person that you just can't capture in a pic.
